The population of the region as of July 1, 2026 amounted to 846.0 thousand people, including 399.9 thousand people (47%) - urban, 446.1 thousand people (53%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-June 2026 amounted to 4928 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 5827 people).
The number of births as January-June 2026 amounted to 7188 people (11.7% less than in January-June 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 2260 people (2.2% less than in January-June 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to - -5268 people (in January-June 2025 - -5027 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of 19 people (16), in internal - negative - -5287 people (-5043).
The volume of industrial production in January-July 2026 amounted to 659951 million tenge in current prices, which amounted to 104.7% compared to January-July 2025.
In the mining industry, production decreased by 7.8%, in the manufacturing industry by13.7%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned air decreased by 63.7%, in water supply; sanitation; waste 1collection, treatment and disposal, pollution control activities, an increase by 3.6% was noted.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January- July 2026 amounted to 51514.4 million tenge, or 103.2% by January- July 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-July 2026 amounted to 15528.1 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 9.0% compared to January-July 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic – 1488.3 million pkm, or 93.5% by January-July 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) performed in January-July 2026 amounted to 196714 million tenge, or 134.9% compared to the corresponding period of 2025.
The total area of housing commissioned in January-July 2026 increased by 2.0% compareg to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 442.8 thousand square meters, and decreased by 23.0% (44.5 thousand square meters) in apartment residential buildings , of which increased by 6.7% (398.3 thousand square meters) in individual residential buildings.
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-July 2026 amounted to 416211 million tenge, or 106.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The number of registered legal entities as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 11569 units, including 11213 units with fewer than 100 employees. Compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, there has been a decrease in registered legal entities by 0.4%. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 10388 units , among which 10032 units were small enterprises. The number of registered small and medium–sized enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 9024 units, and increase by 0,1% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The gross regional product for the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 631.4 billion tenge at current prices. Compared with the I quarter of 2025, real GRP increased by 5.0%. In the structure of GRP, the share of goods production accounted for 33.9%, while services made up – 59.8%.
The consumer price index in July 2026 compared to December 2025 was 105.3%.
Prices for food products increased by 5%, non-food products – by 5.3%, paid services for the population – by 5.5%. The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in July 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 11.2%.
The volume of retail trade in January-July 2026 amounted to 331797.1 million tenge, or 2.6% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-July 2026 amounted to 208954.9 million tenge, or 4.3% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-June 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 58.0 million US dollars and compared to January-June 2025 decreased by 15.9% , including exports 35.9 million US dollars (3.1 less), imports of 22.1 million US dollars (30.8% less).
