The natural increase in the population in January-April 2026 amounted to 3276 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 3918 people).

The number of births as January-April 2026 amounted to 4746 people (12.1% less than in January-April 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 1470 people (0.1% less than in January-April 2025).

The balance of migration is negative and amounted to - -3228 people (in January-April 2025 - -3137 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of 18 people (15), in internal - negative - -3246 people (-3152).

The number of unemployed in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 15.6 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4.5% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of June 1, 2026 amounted to 15547 people, or 4.4% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 385193 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 8,5%.
The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 97.2%.
In the IV quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 173441 tenge, which is 8.3% higher than in IV quarter 2024, real monetary incomes over the specified period decreased to 97.0%.

The volume of industrial production in January-May 2026 amounted to 462786 million tenge in current prices, which amounted to 100.6% compared to January-May 2025.

In the mining industry, production decreased by 8.2%, in the manufacturing industry by10.1%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air-conditioned air decreased by 23.5%, in water supply; sanitation; waste 1collection, treatment and disposal, pollution control activities, an increase by 7.9% was noted.

The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-May 2026 amounted to 27 723,0 million tenge, or 103.3% by January- May 2025.

The volume of cargo turnover in January-May 2026 amounted to 10688.9 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 93.6% compared to January-May 2025.

The volume of passenger traffic – 1037.7 million pkm, or 99.8% by January-May 2025.

The volume of construction works (services) performed in January-May 2026 amounted to 96549 million tenge, or 127.1% compared to the corresponding period of 2025.

The total area of housing commissioned in January-May 2026 increased by 1.0% compareg to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 249.7 thousand square meters, and decreased by 13.8% (44.5 thousand square meters) in apartment residential buildings , of which increased by 6.6 % (205.2 thousand square meters) in individual residential buildings.

The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-May 2026 amounted to 261010 million tenge, or 106.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The number of registered legal entities as of June 1, 2026 amounted to 11613 units, including 11256 units with fewer than 100 employees. Compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, there has been a decrease in registered legal entities by 0.3%. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 10385 units , among which 10028 units were small enterprises. The number of registered small and medium–sized businesses (legal entities) in the region amounted to 9059 units, and increase by 0,2% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.

According to preliminary data, the volume of gross regional product for 2025 amounted to 3071.8 billion tenge at current prices. Compared to 2024, real GRP increased by 2.9%. In the structure of GRP, the share of goods production accounted for 42,3%, while services made up – 53,4%.

The consumer price index in May 2026 compared to December 2025 was 104.3%.

Prices for food products increased by 4.1%, non-food products – by 3.9%, paid services for the population – by 5.2%. The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in May 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 22.3%.

The volume of retail trade in January-May 2026 amounted to 217943.6 million tenge, or 1.8% more than the corresponding period in 2025.

The volume of wholesale trade in January-May 2026 amounted to 133311.5 million tenge, or 3.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.

According to preliminary data, in January-April 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 33.3 million US dollars and compared to January-April 2025 decreased by 23.0% , including exports 22.4 million US dollars (8.7 less), imports of 10.9 million US dollars (41.7% less).
