The population of the region as of November 1, 2023 amounted to 830.3 thousand people, including 517.1 thousand people (62.3%) – urban, 313.2 thousand people (37.7%) – rural residents.
Natural population growth in January-October 2023 amounted to 1281 people (in the corresponding period of 2022 – 1004 people). For January-October 2023 newborns were registered by 4.8% less than in January-October 2022, deaths – by 9.1%.
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to 3148 people (in January-October 2022 – -4413 people), including – -36 people in external migration (-1922 people), in internal migration – -3112 people (-2491 people).
The average per capita nominal cash income of the population, according to estimates, in the II quarter of 2023 amounted to 174667 tenge per month. The index of nominal money income was 122%, real money income – 105.3%.
The consumer index in November 2023 compared to December 2022 was 108.4%. Food prices increased by 7.3%, non-food – by 8.5%, and paid services for the population – by 9.5%.
Prices of enterprises producing industrial products in November 2023 compared to December 2022 increased by 6.7%.
The number of unemployed in the III quarter of 2023 amounted to 22383 people. The unemployment rate was 4.7% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with the employment authorities as unemployed, at the end of October 2023 amounted to 6406 people or 1.3% of the labor force.
Average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small businesses engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the III quarter of 2023 amounted to 296842 tenge, an increase compared to the III quarter of 2022 amounted to 19.2%. Real wage index in the III quarter of 2023 amounted to 106%.
The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2023 amounted 1625.5 billion tenge in current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of 2022 real GRP increased by 5.8%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods was 47.3%, services 44.1%.
The volume of industrial production in January-October 2023 amounted to 2189.3 billion tenge in current prices, which is 4.7% higher than the level of January-October 2022. In the manufacturing industry, the increase in production amounted to 16.1%. In the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioned production decreased by 2.3%, in water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, pollution control activities – 5.3%, mining and quarrying – 13.1%.
Gross output of products (services) of agriculture, forestry, hunting and fisheries in January-October 2023 amounted to 611.8 billion tenge or 79.3% compared to January-October 2022, of which agriculture – 610.7 billion tenge (79.3%). The gross output of crop production amounted to 391.5 billion tenge (73.7%), livestock – 218.5 billion tenge (102.4%).
The volume of construction works (services) in January-October 2023 amounted to 179.2 billion tenge or 121.5% compared to January-October 2022. Due to all sources of financing, 412368 sq. m of the total area of residential buildings or 104.3% by January-October 2022.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-October 2023 amounted to 22531.5 million t-km (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation) or 100.7% compared to January-October 2022. The volume of passenger traffic amounted to 1405.8 million p-km or 106% compared to the corresponding period in 2022.
The volume of investments in fixed assets in January-October 2023, taking into account the assessment, amounted to 392.9 billion tenge or 107.4% compared to January-October 2022.
Number of registered legal entities as of November 1, 2023 amounted to 14976 units, of which 14587 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 13040 units, of which 12653 units are small enterprises.
The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 11663 units and increased by 2.6% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
Retail trade volume in January-October 2023 amounted to 467.9 billion tenge or 2.5% more than the corresponding period in 2022.
Wholesale trade volume in January-October 2023 amounted to 841.3 billion tenge or 104.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2022.
According to preliminary data, the turnover of mutual trade with the EAEU countries in January-September 2023 amounted to 1319.7 million US dollars or 99.8% compared to January-September 2022, including exports – 548.6 million US dollars (157.2%), imports – 771.1 million US dollars (79.2%).
