The population of the region as of of September 1, 2026 amounted to 795.8 thousand people, including 461.4 thousand people (58%) - urban, 333.7 thousand people (42%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January - August 2026 amounted to 1073 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 1388 people).
The number of births as January - August 2026 amounted to 5621 people (4,2% less than in January - August 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 4548 people (1,5% more than in January - August 2025).
The balance of migration is positive and amounted to - 4394 people (in January - August 2025 –-496 people), including in external migration negative balance of 34 people (12 people), in internal - positive - 4428 people (-508 people).
The number of unemployed in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 18.6 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4.4% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of October 1, 2026 amounted to 7591 people, or 1.8% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 406085 tenge, an increase compared to the II quarter of 2025 amounted to 10.7%.
The real wage index in II quarter 2026 was 98.4%.
The volume of industrial production in January-September 2026 amounted to 1901869.8 million tenge in current prices, which is 4.6% less than in January-September 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 3.7%, in the manufacturing industry decreased by 10.2%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was an increased by 32,9%, in water supply; sanitation; waste collection, treatment and disposal, pollution elimination activities increased by 7.4%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-September 2026 amounted to 874239.1 million tenge, or 107,3% by January- September 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-September 2026 amounted to 16354.4 million tkm (accounting for the amount of work performed by individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 102.8% compared to January-September 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic –617.1 million pkm, or 116.6% by January-September 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 273230.9 million tenge, or 100.2% by January-September 2025.
In January-September 2026 the total area of housing put into operation decreased by 11.8% and amounted to 378.5 thousand square meters. Of thisthe total areain multi-apartment buildings decreasedby 23.2% (165 thousand square meters),the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation increasedby 4.1% (213.2 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-September 2026 amounted to 633129.1 million tenge, or 104.6% by January-September 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of Осtober1, 2026 amounted to 14928 units and decreased by 0.1% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 14569 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 13171 units, including 12815 units –small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 11700 units, down 0.8% decreased to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product according to preliminary data for January-June 2026 amounted to 2 191 261,8 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-June 2025, real GRP increased by 101.0%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 48.9%, services – 45.7%.
Consumer price index September 2026 by December 2025 amounted to 107.9%, including for food products –106%, non-food – 108.9%, paid services to the population – 108.8%. The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in September 2026 compared to December 2025 incresed by 0.4%.
The volume of retail trade in January-September 2026 amounted to 427695 million tenge, or 2.6% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-September 2026 amounted to 946186.4 million tenge, or 100,5% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-August 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 394.5million US dollars, including exports – 76.6 million dollars, imports – 317.9 million US dollars.
