The population of the region as of Jule 1, 2026 amounted to 793.0 thousand people, including 459.8 thousand people (58%) - urban, 333.2 thousand people (42%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-June 2026 amounted to 836 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 909 people).
The number of births as January-June 2026 amounted to 4207 people (1,6% less than in January-June 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 3371 people (0,1% more than in January-June 2025).
The balance of migration is positive and amounted to - 2576 people (in January-June 2025 –-241 people), including in external migration - balance of - 0 people (64 people), in internal - positive - 2576 people (-305 people).
The number of unemployed in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 18.6 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4.4% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of August1, 2026 amounted to 7817 people, or 1.9% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 378763 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 10.3%.
The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 97.6%.
The volume of industrial production in January-July 2026 amounted to 1501924.3 million tenge in current prices, which is 4.3% less than in January-July 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 2.2%, in the manufacturing industry decreased by 9.6%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was an increased by 35.5%, in water supply; sanitation; waste collection, treatment and disposal, pollution elimination activities increased by 4.2%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 262 027,9 million tenge, or 105,4% by January-Jule 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-July 2026 amounted to 12624.7 million tkm (accounting for the amount of work performed by individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 103.5% compared to January-July 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic –481.1 million pkm, or 118.7% by January-July 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 169411.9 million tenge, or 111.7% by January-July 2025.
In January-July 2026 the total area of housing put into operation decreased by 0.4% and amounted to 309.7thousand square meters.Of thisthe total areain multi-apartment buildingsincreasedby 4%(164.3 thousand square meters), the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation decreased by 3.6%(145.2 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-July 2026 amounted to 404562.3 million tenge, or 102.3% by January-July2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 14851 units and decreased by 0.1% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 14498 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 13146 units, including 12796 units – small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 11634 units, down 0.7% decreased to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product according to preliminary data for January-March 2026 amounted to 986 539.6 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-March 2025, real GRP increased by 94.7%. In thestructure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 45.8%, services – 49%.
Consumer price index Jule 2026 by December 2025 amounted to 106.7%, including for food products –106%, non-food – 107.4%, paid services to the population – 106.5%. The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in Jule 2026 compared to December 2025 incresed by 1.9%.
The volume of retail trade in January-Juiy 2026 amounted to 299133.7 million tenge, or 2.5% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-July 2026 amounted to 675276.4 million tenge, or 97.4% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-June 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 291.0 million US dollars, including exports – 56.5 million dollars, imports – 234.5 million US dollars.
