The population of the region as of June 1, 2026 amounted to 685,5 thousand people, including 315,1 thousand people (46% ) - urban, 370,4 thousand people (54%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-May 2026 amounted to 2046people (in the corresponding period of the previous year 2247people).
The number of births as January - May 2026 amounted to 3972 people (8,2% increased than in January -May 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 1926 people (7,3 % less than in January - May 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -4230people (in January - May 2025 - 4758 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of 355 people (246people), in internal - 4585 people and (in January - May 2025 -5004 people).
The number of unemployed in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 13889 thousand people. The unemployment rate was 4,6% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as by the end of june, 2026 amounted to 17179 people, or 5,7% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 346199 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 12,2%.
The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 100%.
The volume of industrial production in January-June 2026 amounted to 230035,6 million tenge in current prices, which is 28% more than in January- June 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes rose by 86,5%, in the manufacturing industry volumes increased by 27,8%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning rose by 19%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities increased by 4,4%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-June 2026 amounted to 108917,1million tenge, or 101,6 % by January-June 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-June 2026 amounted to 6981,3 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 116,3% compared to January-June 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic – 309,1million pkm, or 113,6% by January-June 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 100709,1million tenge, or 75,4% compared to January- June 2025.
In January- June 2025, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 15,3% and amounted to 147,4 thousand squaremeters,of which in multi-apartment buildings it decreasedby– 54,3% (27,1 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation increased by 83,2% (120,3 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January- June 2026 amounted to 147712,6million tenge, or 78,4% by January- June 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of July 1, 2026 amounted to 8623 units and increased by1,4% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 8385 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 7298 units, including 7063 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 6643 units and increased by 2,7% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-March 2026 amounted to 488004,7million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-March 2025, real GRP increased by 4,2%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 32,1%, services – 59,4%.
The consumer price index in June 2026 compared to December 2025 was 106,4%.
Prices for food products increased by 7,4%, non-food products – by 5,6%, paid services for the population – by 5,5%. The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in Junе 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 9,3%.
The volume of retail trade in January-June 2026 amounted to 154887,0million tenge, or 3,2% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-June 2026 amounted to 241957,5 million tenge, or 8,3% less than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-May 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 48130,2thousand US dollars and umenshilas by 3,1% morecompared to January-May 2025, including exports –17928,3thousand US dollars (by 24,9% less), imports – 30201,9thousand US dollars (by32,4% more).
