The population of the region as of Jule 1, 2026 amounted to 684,8 thousand people, including 315,2 thousand people (46% ) - urban, 369,6 thousand people (54%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January- June 2026 amounted to 2457 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year 2659 people).
The number of births as January - June 2026 amounted to 4838 people (6,4% lees than in January - June 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 2381 people (5,1 % less than in January - June 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -5324 people (in January - June 2025 - 5889 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of 380 people (267 people), in internal - 5704 people and (in January - June 2025 -6156 people).
The number of unemployed in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 14138 thousand people. The unemployment rate was 4,6% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as by the end of Jule 1, 2026 amounted to 17786 people, or 5,3% of the labor force.
The volume of industrial production in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 269 434,3 million tenge in current prices, which is 28,8% more than in January- Jule 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes rose by 63,9%, in the manufacturing industry volumes increased by 28,2%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning rose by 24,5%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities decreased by – 0,8%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-July 2026 amounted to 148343,5 million tenge, or 102,4 % by January- July 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 8142,26 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 145,5% compared to January-Jule 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic – 394,4 million pkm, or 112,2% by January-Jule 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 125757,7 million tenge, or 79% compared to January- July 2025.
In January- July 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 17,6% and amounted to 172,3 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings it decreased by – 57,6% (27,1 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation increased by 82,1% (145,2 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January- July 2026 amounted to 180381,8 million tenge, or 75,5% by January- July 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 8657 units and increased by 1,4% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 8 420 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 7269 units, including 7034 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 6636 units and increased by 2,9% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-March 2026 amounted to 488004,7million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-March 2025, real GRP increased by 4,2%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 32,1%, services – 59,4%.
The consumer price index in May 2026 compared to December 2025 was 107,7%.
Prices for food products increased by 9,1%, non-food products – by 7,1%, paid services for the population – by 5,7%. The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in May 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 11,4%.
The volume of retail trade in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 190685,7 million tenge, or 3,5% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 284964,9 million tenge, or 11,6% less than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January- June 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 60582,4 thousand US dollars and umenshilas by 6,5% more compared to January- June 2025, including exports –22 203,7 thousand US dollars (by22,1% less), imports – 38 378,7 thousand US dollars (by35,2% more).
