The population of the region as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 684 thousand people, including 315 thousand people (46% ) - urban, 369 thousand people (54%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January- Jule 2026 amounted to 2817 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year 3324 people).
The number of births as January - Jule 2026 amounted to 5672 people (9,6% lees than in January - Jule 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 2855 people (3,2 % less than in January - Jule 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -6523 people (in January - Jule 2025 - 5324 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of 379 people (380 people), in internal - 6902 people and (in January - Jule 2025 -5704 people).
The number of unemployed in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 14138 thousand people. The unemployment rate was 4,6% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as by the end of August 1, 2026 amounted to 17660 people, or 5,8% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 377798 tenge, an increase compared to the II quarter of 2025 amounted to 9,1%.
The real wage index in II quarter 2026 was 95,2%..
The volume of industrial production in January-August 2026 amounted to 314 835,4 million tenge in current prices, which is 28,5% more than in January- August 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes rose by 53,2%, in the manufacturing industry volumes increased by 28,8%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning rose by 23,1%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities decreased by – 1,8%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-August 2026 amounted to 220 641,0 million tenge, or 102,7 % by January- August 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-August 2026 amounted to 9323,32 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 113,0% compared to January-August 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic – 474,47 million pkm, or 112,4% by January- August 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 148181,1 million tenge, or 75,7% compared to January- August 2025.
In January-August 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 7,7% and amounted to 201.2 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings it decreased by – 62 % (27,1 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation increased by 54,7% (174.1 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-August 2026 amounted to 212243.2 million tenge, or 70,9% by January- August 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of September 1, 2026 amounted to 8 699 units and increased by 1,6% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 8 461 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 7 319 units, including 7 083 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 6 726 units and increased by 3,1% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-March 2026 amounted to 488004,7million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-March 2025, real GRP increased by 4,2%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 32,1%, services – 59,4%.
The consumer price index in August 2026 compared to December 2025 was 108,0%.
Prices for food products increased by 8,5%, non-food products – by 7,7%, paid services for the population – by 7,5%. The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in August 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 11,4%.
The volume of retail trade in January-August 2026 amounted to 226707,3 million tenge, or 3,4% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-August 2026 amounted to 407822,7 million tenge, or 7,8% less than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-Jule 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 67002,3 thousand US dollars and umenshilas by 7,2% morecompared to January-Jule 2025, including exports –25257,6 thousand US dollars (by 30,4% less), imports –41744,7 thousand US dollars (by22,2% more).
