The population of the region as of June, 2026 amounted to 512,4 thousand people, including 258 thousand people (50,4%) – urban, 254,4 thousand people (49,6%) – rural residents.
The natural decline in the population in January-May 2026 amounted to -705 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – -629 people).
The number of births as January-May 2026 amounted to 1751 people (7,5% less in January-May 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 2456 people (2,6% less than in January-May 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -1039 people (in January-May 2025– -2608 people), including in external migration –7(-27), in internal –-1046 people (-2581 people).
The number of unemployed in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 11,1 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,4% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered in Career Centers as unemployed as of Jule 1, 2026 amounted to 4981 people, or 1,9% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 326664 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 8,9%.
The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 95,6%.
The volume of industrial production in January-June 2026 amounted to 483318 million tenge in current prices, which is 18,7% more than in January- June 2025. In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 0,5%, in the manufacturing industry – by 17,2%,in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air – by 33,8%, in water supply, collection, treatment and disposal of waste, activities for the elimination of pollution – by 17,8%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-June 2026 amounted to 105311,4 milliontenge, or 103,8% by January-June 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-June 2026 amounted to 4495,6 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 99,9% compared to January- June 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic –259,3 million pkm, or 108,9% by January-June 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 77757 million tenge, or 98,5% compared to January-June 2025.
In January-June 2026, the total area of commissioned housing increased by 5,6% and amounted to 102,8 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment residential buildings – by 45,4% (50,4 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of commissioned individual residential buildings decreased by 16,4% (52,4 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-June 2026 amounted to 220396,4 million tenge, or 96,8% by January-June 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of July 1, 2026 amounted to 10928 units and decreased by 2,9% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 10663 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 9011 units, including 8746 units – small businesses.The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 8086 units and decreased by 4,1% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January- March 2026 amounted to 615671,2 million tenge at current prices. GRP increased by 12,9% in real terms compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 41,6%, services – 52,9%.
The consumer price index in June 2026 compared to December 2025 was 106%.
Prices for food products increased by 5,2%, non-food products – by 6,9%, paid services for the population – by 5,7%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in June 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 2,2%.
The volume of retail trade in January-June 2026 amounted to 229438,1 million tenge, or 1,2% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-June 2026 amounted to 439960,8 million tenge, or 135,3% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-May 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 320,7 million US dollars and increased by 48,8% compared to January-May 2025, including exports – 29 million US dollars (14,5% more by), imports – 291,7 million US dollars (53,3% more by).
