The population of the region as of September, 2026 amounted to 510,8 thousand people, including 258,1 thousand people (50,5%) – urban, 252,7 thousand people (49,5%) – rural residents.
The natural decline in the population in January-August 2026 amounted to -1102 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – -824 people).
The number of births as January-August 2026 amounted to 2823 people (9,2% less in January-August 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 3925 people (0,2% less than in January- August 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -2274 people (in January-August 2025– -4697 people), including in external migration –-93(-145), in internal –-2181 people (-4552 people).
The number of unemployed in the IІ quarter of 2026 amounted to 11,1 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,2% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered in Career Centers as unemployed as of Oktober 1, 2026 amounted to 5237 people, or 2% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the IІ quarter of 2026 amounted to 363123 tenge, an increase compared to the IІ quarter of 2025 amounted to 9,5%.
The real wage index in IІ quarter 2026 was 96,6%.
The volume of industrial production in January-September 2026 amounted to 718892 million tenge in current prices, which is 15% more than in January-September 2025. In the manufacturing industry, production volumes increased by 14,7%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air – by 24,5%, in water supply, collection, treatment and disposal of waste, activities for the elimination of pollution – by 10,6%. In the mining industry, production volumes decreased by 10,8%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-September 2026 amounted to 697137,1 milliontenge, or 110,6% by January-September 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-September 2026 amounted to 6701 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 98,4% compared to January- September 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic – 412,1 million pkm, or 112,3% by January- September 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 189586,8 million tenge, or 98% compared to January- September 2025.
In January- September 2026, the total area of commissioned housing increased by 2,9% and amounted to 173,3 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment residential buildings – by 21,4% (88,1 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of commissioned individual residential buildings decreased by 11,5% (84,7 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-September 2026 amounted to 392325,2 million tenge, or 102,9% by January- September 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of October 1, 2026 amounted to 10967 units and decreased by 3,2% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 10664 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 9135 units, including 8867 units – small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 8065 units and decreased by 4,6% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2026 amounted to 1265297,4 million tenge at current prices. GRP increased by 11,4% in real terms compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 41,5%, services – 52,5%.
The consumer price index in September 2026 compared to December 2025 was 107,4%.
Prices for food products increased by 5,2%, non-food products – by 9,3%, paid services for the population – by 7.9%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in September 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 5,2%.
The volume of retail trade in January-September 2026 amounted to 369499 million tenge, or 1,1% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-September 2026 amounted to 670159,7 million tenge, or 125,7% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-August 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 481,7 million US dollars and increased by 30% compared to January-August 2025, including exports – 56,4 million US dollars (23,5% more by), imports – 425,3 million US dollars (30,9% more by).
