The population of the region as of March 1, 2025 amounted to 601,8 thousand people, including 374,5 thousand people (62,2% ) - urban, 227,3 thousand people (37,8%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-February 2025 amounted to 465 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 615 people).
The number of births as January-February 2025 amounted to 1280 people (17,5% less than in January-February 2024), the number of deaths amounted to 937 people (13,8% less than in January-February 2024).
In January-February 2025, the migration balance in the region was negative and amounted to - -1448 people (in January-February 2024 - -1394 people), while the number of external migration was – 6 people (-55), in internal-negative - -1454 people and (-1339).
The number of unemployed in the IV quarter of 2024 amounted to 14,5 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,7% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of April 1, 2025 amounted to 12,2 thousand people, or 4% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the IV quarter of 2024 amounted to 363624 tenge, an increase compared to the IV quarter of 2023 amounted to 11,8%.
The real wage index in IV quarter 2024 was 102,5%.
In the IV quarter of 2024 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 192973 tenge, which is 11,4% higher than in IV quarter 2023, the growth rate of real cash income for the specified period is 102,1%.
The volume of industrial production in January-March 2025 amounted to 567879,4 million tenge in current prices, which is 0,3% more than in January-March 2024.
In the mining industry volume of production increased by 0,5%, in the manufacturing industry decreased by 0,7%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was increased by 8,3%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities decreased by 9,5%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-March 2025 amounted to 37152,2 million tenge, or 102,4% by January-March 2024.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-March 2025 amounted to 4123,7 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 121% compared to January- March 2024.
The volume of passenger traffic –292,2 million pkm, or 121,4% by January- March 2024.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 20003 million tenge, or 91,9% compared to January- March 2024.
In January–March 2025, the total area of housing put into operation decreased by 59,2% and amounted to 24,5 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings - by 80,4% (8,9 thousand square meters). of individual residential buildings put into operation by 5,4% (13,7 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-March 2025 amounted to 65185,1 million tenge, or 116,4% by January- March 2024.
The number of registered legal entities as of March 1, 2025 amounted to 8480 units and increased by 2% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 8203 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 7057 units, including 6780 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 6324 units and increased by 1,3% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-September 2024 amounted to 2228186,3 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-September 2023, real GRP increased by 4,2%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 54,9%, services – 38,4%.
The consumer price index in March 2025 compared to December 2024 was 103,2%.
Prices for food products increased by 4,6%, non-food products–by 2,5%, paid services for the population–by 2,3%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in March 2025 compared to December 2024 decreased by 2,5%.
The volume of retail trade in March 2025 amounted to 120681,0 million tenge, or 2,4% more than the corresponding period in 2024.
The volume of wholesale trade in March 2025 amounted to 64702,6 million tenge, or 122,9% compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
According to preliminary data, in January 2025, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 42656,0 thousand US dollars and decreased by 29,2% compared to January 2024, including exports – 23789,0 thousand US dollars (by 47% more), imports – 18867,0 thousand US dollars (by 59,7% less).
