The population of the region as of October 1, 2025 amounted to 597,3 thousand people, including 374,4 thousand people (62,7%) - urban, 222,9 thousand people (37,3%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-September 2025 amounted to 2229 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 3142 people).
The number of births as January-September 2025 amounted to 6200 people (14,3% less than in January-September 2024), the number of deaths amounted to 3971 people (2,9% less than in January- September 2024).
In January-September 2025, the migration balance in the region was negative and amounted to - -7769 people (in January-September 2024 - -6211 people), while the number of external migration was – -53 people (-352), in internal-negative - -7716 people and (-5859).
The number of unemployed in the III quarter of 2025 amounted to 14,7 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,7% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of November 1, 2025 amounted to 10,1 thousand people, or 3,2% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the III quarter of 2025 amounted to 372831 tenge, an increase compared to the III quarter of 2024 amounted to 11,5%.
The real wage index in III quarter 2025 was 99,5%.
In the II quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 209557 tenge, which is 14,8% higher than in II quarter 2024, the growth rate of real cash income for the specified period is 103,2%.
In the mining industry volume of production decreased by 2,4%, in the manufacturing industry increased by 1,5%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was increased by 4,4%, in water supply; sanitation; waste collection, treatment and disposal, pollution elimination activities decreased by 5%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-October 2025 amounted to 404302,5 million tenge, or 100,8% by January–October 2024.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-October 2025 amounted to 15098,4 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 131,5% compared to January-October 2024.
The volume of passenger traffic –1111,0 million pkm, or 113,7% by January-October 2024.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 226371,8 million tenge, or 96,8% compared to January-October 2024.
In January-October 2025, the total area of housing put into operation decreased by 34,3% and amounted to 174,2 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings - by 47,5% (107,3 thousand square meters). of individual residential buildings increased put into operation by 7,6% (65,1 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-October 2025 amounted to 416486,1 million tenge, or 99,1% by January-October 2024.
The number of registered legal entities as of November 1, 2025 amounted to 8639 units and increased by 2,2% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 8357 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 7274 units, including 6992 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 6461 units and increased by 2,2 % compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2025 amounted to 1357521,6 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-June 2024, real GRP increased by 4,4%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 53,6%, services – 44,6%.
The consumer price index in October 2025 compared to December 2024 was 109,7%.
Prices for food products increased by 10,6%, non-food products–by 10,4%, paid services for the population–by 8,1%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in October 2025 compared to December 2024 increased by 15,6%.
The volume of retail trade in January-October 2025 amounted to 522021,2 million tenge, or 3,7% more than the corresponding period in 2024.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-October 2025 amounted to 329498,4 million tenge, or 106,3% compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
According to preliminary data, in January-September 2025, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 839292,6 thousand US dollars increased by 3,3% compared to January- September 2024, including exports – – 248840,4 thousand US dollars (by 55,3%more), 590452,2 thousand US dollars (by 9,5% less).
