The unemployment rate was 4.6% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed of April 1, 2026 amounted to 9694 people, or 2% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the IV quarter of 2025 amounted to 364034 tenge, an increase compared to the IV quarter of 2024 amounted to 10.2%. The real wage index in IV quarter 2025 was 98.1%.
In the в IV quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 157873 tenge, which is 7.4% higher than in в IV quarter 2024, the index of real monetary income for the specified period amounted to 95.6%.
The volume of industrial production in January-March 2026 amounted to 397807.5 million tenge in current prices, which is 5.6% more than in January-March 2025.

The volume of cargo turnover in January-March 2026 amounted to 5354.8 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 94% compared to January-March 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic –1762.2 million pkm, or 128.6% compared to the level of January-March 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 56659.3 million tenge, or 149.2% compared to January-March 2025.
In January-March 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 14.7% and amounted to 216.6 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings - by 149.2% (167.3 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation amounted to 61.2% (46.9 tousand square meters), dormitory – 2.3 thousand square meters.
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-March 2026 amounted to 111157.3 million tenge, or 67.4% by January-March 2025.
The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the сity amounted to 27249 units and increased by 1.9% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-September 2025 amounted to 3674651.8 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-September 2024, real GRP increased by 8.5%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 23.9%, services – 67.8%.
The consumer price index in March 2026 compared to December 2025 was 102.6%.
Prices for food products increased by 2.9%, non-food products – by 2.6%, paid services for the population – by 2.2%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in March 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 0.8%.
The volume of retail trade in January-March 2026 amounted to 259041.3 million tenge, or 5.7% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-March 2026 amounted to 430192.2 million tenge, or 122.9% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-February 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 66.8 million US dollars and decreased by 14.7% compared to January-February 2025, including exports –17.3 million US dollars (by 2.7% less), imports – 49.5 million US dollars (18.2% less).
