The balance of migration is positive and amounted to – 4785 people (in January-April 2025 – 8197 people), including in external migration – a positive balance of – 98 people (115), in internal – positive – 4687 people (8082).
The number of unemployed in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 22.3 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4.6% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed of June 1, 2026 amounted to 10139 people, or 2.1% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 350374 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 9%. The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 97.8%.
In the в IV quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 157873 tenge, which is 7.4% higher than in в IV quarter 2024, the index of real monetary income for the specified period amounted to 95.6%.
The volume of industrial production in January-May 2026 amounted to 666784.9 million tenge in current prices, which is 6.3% more than in January-May 2025.
In water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities a production by increase 9.2%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was an increase of 33.7%

The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-May 2026 amounted to 24166.4 million tenge, or 105.8% by January-May 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-May 2026 amounted to 8716.8 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 95% compared to January-May 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic –2925.6 million pkm, or 118.7% compared to the level of January-May 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 95940.2 million tenge, or 131.8% compared to January-May 2025.
In January-May 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 9.3% and amounted to 476.6 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings - by 132% (378.5 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation amounted to 64.1% (95.7 tousand square meters), dormitory – 2.3 thousand square meters.
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-May 2026 amounted to 255853.7 million tenge, or 81.8% by January-May 2025.
The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the сity amounted to 27134 units and increased by 0.5% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-December 2025 amounted to 5703373 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-December 2024, real GRP increased by 11%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 26.4%, services – 66.9%.
The consumer price index in May 2026 compared to December 2025 was 104.2%.
Prices for food products increased by 4.4%, non-food products – by 4%, paid services for the population – by 3.9%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in May 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 1%.
The volume of retail trade in January-May 2026 amounted to 484490.5 million tenge, or 6.1% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-May 2026 amounted to 955716.8 million tenge, or 125.2% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-April 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 158.8 million US dollars and decreased by 13.6% compared to January-April 2025, including exports –37.5 million US dollars (by 12.9% less), imports – 121.3 million US dollars (13.8% less).
