The natural increase in the population in January-March 2026 amounted to 5148 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 5046 people).
The number of births in January-March 2026 amounted to 6290 people (2% more than in January-March 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 1142 people (1.8% morе than in January-March 2025).
The balance of migration is positive and amounted to – 3670 people (in January-March 2025 – 3282 people), including in external migration – a positive balance of – 82 people (74), in internal – positive – 3588 people (3208).
The number of unemployed in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 22.3 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4.6% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed of May 1, 2026 amounted to 9519 people, or 2% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 350374 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 9%. The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 97.8%.
In the в IV quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 157873 tenge, which is 7.4% higher than in в IV quarter 2024, the index of real monetary income for the specified period amounted to 95.6%.
The volume of industrial production in January-April 2026 amounted to 518069.6 million tenge in current prices, which is 3.3% more than in January-April 2025.
In water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities a production by increase 1%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was an increase of 20.1%

The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-April 2026 amounted to 18734.7 million tenge, or 106.5% by January-April 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-April 2026 amounted to 6919.8 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 96.4% compared to January-April 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic –2348.4 million pkm, or 126% compared to the level of January-April 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 70641.3 million tenge, or 133% compared to January-April 2025.
In January-April 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 10% and amounted to 355.3 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings - by 136.5% (281.8 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation amounted to 61.1% (71.2 tousand square meters), dormitory – 2.3 thousand square meters.
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-April 2026 amounted to 145300.5 million tenge, or 58.7% by January-April 2025.
The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the сity amounted to 27216 units and increased by 1.3% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-December 2025 amounted to 5703373 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-December 2024, real GRP increased by 11%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 26.4%, services – 66.9%.
The consumer price index in April 2026 compared to December 2025 was 103.9%.
Prices for food products increased by 4.1%, non-food products – by 3.2%, paid services for the population – by 3.9%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in April 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 0.6%.
The volume of retail trade in January-April 2026 amounted to 362509.7 million tenge, or 5.9% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-April 2026 amounted to 652654.9 million tenge, or 124.5% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-March 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 110.2 million US dollars and decreased by 15.3% compared to January-March 2025, including exports –27.4 million US dollars (by 5.2% less), imports – 82.8 million US dollars (18.3% less).
