The population of the city as of July 1, 2024 amounted to 1239 thousand people.
The natural increase in the population in January-June 2024 amounted to 12040 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 12345 people).
The number of births in January-June 2024 amounted to 14511 people (1.8% less than in January-June 2023), the number of deaths amounted to 2471 people (1.8% more than in January-June 2023).
The balance of migration is positive and amounted to - 4863 people (in January-June 2023 - 1345 people), including in external migration – a positive balance of - 301 people (296), in internal - positive - 4562 people (1049).
The number of unemployed in the II quarter of 2024 amounted to 22.4 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,8% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of August 1, 2024 amounted to 17675 people, or 3.8% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the II quarter of 2023 amounted to 314210 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2023 amounted to 8%. The real wage index in II quarter 2023 was 99.9%.
In the I quarter of 2024 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 121994 tenge, which is 18% higher than in I quarter 2023, the growth rate of real cash income for the specified period is 8.3%.
The volume of industrial production in January-July 2024 amounted to 612345,9 million tenge in current prices, which is 3.6% more than in January-July 2023.
In the mining industry, production volumes decreased by 15.3%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was an increase of 7.3%.
In the manufacturing industry increased - by 3.4%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities a decrease production by 1.7%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-July 2024 amounted to 26318.3 million tenge, or 103.1% by January-July 2023.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-July 2024 amounted to 7928.3 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 127.7% compared to January-July 2023.
The volume of passenger traffic – 2881.4 million pkm, or 99.5% compared to the level of January-July 2023.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 107767 million tenge, or 122% compared to January-July 2023.
In January-July 2024, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 38.7% and amounted to 590.8 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings - by 65% (348.8 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation amounted to 107.3% (230.2 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-July 2024 amounted to 324749,4 million tenge, or 114% by January-July 2023.
The number of registered legal entities as of August 1, 2024 amounted to 28974 units and increased by 3.5% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 28549 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 23070 units, including 22652 units - small businesses.
The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the сity amounted to 26615 units and increased by 3.7% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-March 2024 amounted to 872589.6 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-March 2022, real GRP increased by 8.7%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 26.3%, services – 67%.
The consumer price index in July 2024 compared to December 2023 was 103.8%.
Prices for food products increased by 0.5%, non-food products – by 4.8%, paid services for the population – by 7.3%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in July 2024 compared to Desember 2023 increased by 2.5%.
The volume of retail trade in January-Jule 2024 amounted to 525317.2 million tenge, or 15.1% more than the corresponding period in 2023.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-Jule 2024 amounted to 854655.3 million tenge, or 117.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
According to preliminary data, in January-June 2024, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 301.7 million US dollars and decreased by 8% compared to January-June 2023, including exports – 51.6 million US dollars (by 23.8% less), imports – 250.1 million US dollars (3.8% less).
