The population of Zhambyl region as of September, 2026 amounted to 1210,1 thousand people, including 587,8 thousand people (48,5%) – urban, 622,3 thousand people (51,4%) – rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-August 2026 amounted to 8205 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 9606 people).
The number of births as January-August 2026 amounted to 12978 people (10,8%less than in January-August 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 4773 people (3,3% less than in January-August 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to-13777 people (in January-August 2025 – -14268 people), including in external migration – a negative balance -32 people (-234), in internal migration–a negative balance-13745 people (-14034).
The number of unemployed in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 25092 people.
The unemployment rate was 4,8% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of October1, 2026 amounted to 19207 people or 3,7% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 375456 tenge, an increase compared to the II quarter of 2025 amounted to 5,7%.
The real wage index in II quarter 2026 was 95,7%.
The volume of industrial production in January-September 2026 amounted to 1103597,4 million tenge in current prices, which is 18,1% more than in January-September 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 7,2%, in the manufacturing industry increased by 26,1%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there increase by 7,8%, in water supply; sanitation; waste collection, treatment anddisposal, pollution elimination activities has been noteddecrease by5%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-September 2026 amounted to 466561,6 million tenge or 104,9% by January-September 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-September 2026 amounted to 15679,9 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation) or 101,2% to January-September2025.
The volume of passenger traffic 1499,6 million pkm or 104,1% by January-September 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 283704,4 million tenge or 104% by January-September 2025.
In January-September 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 1,6% and amounted to 530,5 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings increasedby 34,4% (248,1 thousand square meters), in individual residential buildings decreased by 15,3% (282,4 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-September 2026 amounted to 721939,3 million tenge or 137,1% by January-September 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of October 1, 2026 amounted to 14639 units and decreased by 5,1% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 14229 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 12410 units, including 12000 units – small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 11522 units and decreased by 6,3% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2026 amounted to 1662953,8million tenge at current prices. Compared to January-June 2025 real GRP increased by 9,6%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 40,7%, services – 56,5%.
The consumer price index in September 2026 compared to December 2025 was 106,4%.
Prices for paid services for the population increased by – 8,9%, non-food products by–6,7%, food products by – 5,2%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in September 2026 compared to December 2025 increased by 14,3%.
The volume of retail trade in January-September 2026 amounted to 472975,7 million tenge or 2,3% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-September 2026 amounted to 372354,3 million tenge or 102,1% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-August 2026 mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 262,2 million US dollars and increased by 4% compared to January-August 2025, including exports – 112,1million US dollars (1,7% less), imports – 150,1million US dollars (8,7% more).
