The population of the region as of August 1, 2024 amounted to 725,7 thousand people, including 484,9 thousand people
(66,8% ) – urban, 240,8 thousand people (33,2%) – rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-July 2024 amounted to 183 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year, the natural increase in the population amounted to 563 people).
The number of births as January-July 2024 amounted to 5037 people (3,5% less in January-July 2023), the number of deaths amounted to 4854 people (4,3% more than in January-July 2023).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -1570 people (in January-July 2023 – -1826 people), including in external migration – a negative balance of -292 people (-426), in internal – negative -1278 people and (-1400).
The number of unemployed in the ІI quarter of 2024 amounted to 17,8 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,6% of the labor force. The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of September 1, 2024 amounted to 11777 people, or 3,0% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the ІI quarter of 2024 amounted to 374924 tenge, an increase compared to the ІI quarter of 2023 amounted to 11,6%. The real wage index in ІI quarter 2024 was 102,2%.
In the I quarter of 2024 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 211317 tenge, which is 11,1% higher than in I quarter 2023, the growth rate of real cash income for the specified period is 101,0%.
The volume of industrial production in January-August 2024 amounted to 1668069,4 million tenge in current prices, which is 5,7% more than in January-August 2023.
In the mining and mine workings industry, production volumes increased by 5,5%, in the manufacturing industry – by 5,4%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioned – by 12,1%. In water supply; sanitation, waste collection, treatment and disposal, pollution elimination activities the decrease in production amounted to 9,6%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-August 2024 amounted to 172892,0 million tenge, or 105,6% by January- August 2023.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-August 2024 amounted to 4438,8 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 88,3% compared to January-August 2023.
The volume of passenger traffic – 1200,9 million pkm, or 93,4% by January-August 2023.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 206416,9 million tenge, or 137,2% compared to January-August 2023.
In January-August 2024, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 4,2% and amounted to 162,0 thousand square meters. At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation decreased by 10,1% (48,2 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-August 2024 amounted to 382634,1 million tenge, or 113,1% by January-August 2023.
The number of registered legal entities as of September 1, 2024 amounted to 15036 units and increased by 0,4% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 14680 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 11628 units, including 11 274 units- small businesses.The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 12 252 units and remained at the level compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-March 2024 amounted to 1086449,3 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-March 2023, real GRP increased by 7,5%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 50,9%, services – 42,5%.
The consumer price index in August 2024 compared to December 2023 was 106,1%.
Prices for food products increased by 3,4%, non-food products – by 5,9%, paid services for the population – by 10,6%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in August 2024 compared to December 2023 increased by 13,6%.
The volume of retail trade in January-August 2024 amounted to 755206,8 million tenge, or 2,4% more than the corresponding period in 2023.
The volume of wholesale trade in January- August 2024 amounted to 530103,3 million tenge, or 98,9% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
According to preliminary data, in January-July 2024, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 945,7 million US dollars and decreased by 16,5% compared to January-July 2023, including exports – 400,2 million US dollars (by 4% more), imports – 545,5 million US dollars (27,1% less).
