The population of the region as of November 1, 2024 amounted to 724,5 thousand people, including 485,1 thousand people (67% ) – urban, 239,4 thousand people (33%) – rural residents.

The natural increase in the population in January-Oktober 2024 amounted to 214 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 652 people).

The number of births as January-Oktober 2024 amounted to 7059 people (4,1% less in January- Oktober 2023), the number of deaths amounted to 6845 people (2% more than in January-Oktober 2023).

The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -2756 people (in January-Oktober 2023 –    -3312 people), including in external migration – a negative balance of -550 people (-836), in internal – negative -2206 people and (-2476).

The number of unemployed in the ІІI quarter of 2024 amounted to 17,7 thousand people.

The unemployment rate was 4,6% of the labor force. The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of December 1, 2024 amounted to 11466 people, or 3,0% of the labor force.

The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the IІI quarter of 2024 amounted to 360098 tenge, an increase compared to the ІII quarter of 2023 amounted to 13,7%. The real wage index in ІII quarter 2024 was 104,2%.

In the II quarter of 2024 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 221361 tenge, which is 10,7% higher than in II quarter 2023, the growth rate of real cash income for the specified period is 101,4%.

The volume of industrial production in January-November 2024 amounted to 2356973,8 million tenge in current prices, which is 3,4% more than in January-November 2023.

In the mining and mine workings industry, production volumes increased by 6,2%, in the manufacturing industry – by 2,3%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioned – by 9,7%. In water supply; sanitation, waste collection, treatment and disposal, pollution elimination activities the decrease in production amounted to 8,7%.

The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-November 2024 amounted to 427 146,6 million tenge, or 107,9% by January- November 2023.

The volume of cargo turnover in January-November 2024 amounted to 6268,63 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 89,9% compared to January-November 2023.

The volume of passenger traffic – 1685,8 million pkm, or 94,5% by January- November 2023.

The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 329134   million tenge, or 126,6% compared to January-Noveber 2023.

In January-Noveber 2024, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 11,1% and amounted to 272,3 thousand square meters. At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation decreased by 13,1% (79,2 thousand square meters).

The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-Noveber 2024 amounted to 586066,4 million tenge, or 104,5% by January-Noveber 2023.

The number of registered legal entities as of December 1, 2024 amounted to 15078 units and increased by 0,1% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year , including 14708 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 11828 units, including 11459 units- small businesses.The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 12279 units and decreased by 0,3% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.

The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2024 amounted to 1086449,3 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-June 2023, real GRP increased by 7,5%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 50,9%, services – 42,5%.

The consumer price index in November 2024 compared to December 2023 was 108,1%.

Prices for food products increased by 5,2%, non-food products – by 8,2%, paid services for the population – by 12,5%.

The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in November 2024 compared to December 2023 increased by 23,4%.

The volume of retail trade in January-November 2024 amounted to 1064877,6 million tenge, or 2,0% more than the corresponding period in 2023.

The volume of wholesale trade in January- November 2024 amounted to 746555,8 million tenge, or 104,7% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.

According to preliminary data, in January-October 2024, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 1409,9 million US dollars and decreased by 4,6% compared to January-October 2023, including exports – 625,5 million US dollars (by 18,4% more), imports – 784,4 million US dollars (17,4% less).
