The population of the region as of November 1, 2025 amounted to 1131,6 thousand people, including 932,9 thousand people (82,4% ) – urban, 198,7 thousand people (17,6%) – rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-Oсtober 2025 amounted to 2768 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 4143 people).
The number of births as January-Oсtober 2025 amounted to 11567 people (11,4% less than in January-Oсtober 2024), the number of deaths amounted to 8799 people (1,3% less than in January-Oсtober 2024).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -5112 people (in January-Oсtober 2024 – -5362 people), including in internal – -4690 people in internal migration (-4862), and – -422 people in external migration (-500).
The number of unemployed the III quarter of 2025 amounted to 21,6 thousand people.
The volume of industrial production in January-November 2025 amounted to 4486457,4 million tenge in current prices, which is 6,0% more than in January-November 2024. In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 7,3%, in the manufacturing industry - by 5,7%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was by 4,3%. In water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities increased by 8,5%.
The volume of gross output of agriculture, forestry and fisheries products (services) in January-November 2025 amounted to 493298,3 million tenge, or 100,3% by January-November 2024.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-November 2025 amounted to 38241,3 million tkm (аccounting for the amount of work performed by individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 106,1% compared to January- November 2024.
The volume of passenger traffic – 2947,5 million pkm, or 111,2% by January- November 2024.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 590545,9 million tenge, or 100,2% compared to January-November 2024.
In January-November 2025, the total area of housing into operation increased by 14,6% and amounted to 507 thousand square meters. Including, the area in individual residential buildings increased 17% (79,4 thousand square meters) and while in multi-apartment residential buildings, it increased by 17% (427,6 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-November 2025 amounted to 1049234,6 million tenge, or 87,1% by January-November 2024.
The number of registered legal entities as of December 1, 2025 amounted to 28252 units and decreased by 1,7% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 27686 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 23198 units, including 22645 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium-sized enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 24475 units and decreased by 1,5% compared to the corresponding date in 2024.
The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2025 amounted to 3660902,4 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, real GRP increased by 5,9%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 48,8%, services – 47,9%.
The consumer price index in November 2025 compared to December 2024 was 112%.
Prices for food products increased by 12,3%, non-food products – by 10,6%, paid services for the population – by 13%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in November 2025 compared to December 2024 increased by 14%.
The volume of retail trade in January-November 2025 amounted to 1639163,2 million tenge, or 1,3% more than the corresponding period in 2024.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-November 2025 amounted to 2828598,3 million tenge, or 1,8% more than the corresponding period in 2024.
According to preliminary data, in January-October 2025, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to
2350,3 million US dollars and decreased by 2,7% compared to January-October 2024, including exports – 1353,1 million US dollars (by 3,7% less), imports – 997,2 million US dollars (1,4% less).
