The population of the region as of April 1, 2025 amounted to 1133.4 thousand people, including 930.7 thousand people
(82.1% ) – urban, 202.7 thousand people (17.9%) – rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-March 2025 amounted to 574 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 1063 people).
The number of births as January-March 2025 amounted to 3145 people (16.3% less than in January-March 2024), the number of deaths amounted to 2571 people (4.6% less than in January-March 2024).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -1071 people (in January-March 2024 – -1482 people), including in internal – -1100 people in internal migration (-1491), and – 29 people in external migration (9).
The number of unemployed in the IV quarter of 2024 amounted to 22,1 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,0% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of Desember 1, 2024 amounted to 9131 people, or 1.6% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the IV quarter of 2024 amounted to 415544 tenge, an increase compared to the IV quarter of 2023 amounted to 13,2%.
The real wage index in IV quarter 2024 was 108,0%.
In the IV quarter of 2024 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 247768 tenge, which is 11,1% higher than in IV quarter 2023, the growth rate of real cash income for the specified period is 1,8%.
The volume of industrial production in January-April 2025 amounted to 1508242,8 million tenge in current prices, which is 12% more than in January- April 2024.
In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 11,9%, in the manufacturing industry - by 12,9%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was by 2,5%. In water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities increased by 4,7%.
The volume of gross output of agriculture, forestry and fisheries products (services) in January-April 2025 amounted to 47493,3 million tenge, or 101% by January-April 2024.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-April 2025 amounted to 13811.9 million tkm (аccounting for the amount of work performed by individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 112.1% compared to January- April 2024.
The volume of passenger traffic – 1008.3 million pkm, or 117.7% by January- April 2024.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 97557,6 million tenge, or 109% compared to January-April 2024.
In January-April 2025, the total area of housing into operation decreased by 59,7% and amounted to 75,4 thousand square meters. Of this, the area in individual residential buildings decreased 9,3% (17,6 thousand square meters), while in multi-apartment residential buildings, it decreased by 65,2% (57,8 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-April 2025 amounted to 226638,2 million tenge, or 105,7% by January-April 2024.
The number of registered legal entities as of May 1, 2025 amounted to 28614 units and decreased by 0,7% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 28073 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 22866 units, including 22340 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium-sized enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 24741 units and decreased by 0.8% compared to the corresponding date in 2024.
The volume of gross regional product for January-December 2024 amounted to 9237175,4 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, real GRP increased by 11,3%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 53,8%, services – 44,7%.
The consumer price index in April 2025 compared to December 2024 was 106,8%.
Prices for food products increased by 7,5%, non-food products – by 4%, paid services for the population – by 8,6%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in April 2025 compared to December 2024 increased by 4,5%.
The volume of retail trade in January-April 2025 amounted to 483070,8 million tenge, or 2,8% more than the corresponding period in 2024.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-April 2025 amounted to 717404 million tenge, or 0,8% more than the corresponding period in 2024.
According to preliminary data, in January-March 2025, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 638,9 million US dollars and increased by 3% compared to January- March 2024, including exports – 370,8 million US dollars (by 6% more), imports – 268,1 million US dollars (0,9% less).
