The population in the city of Almaty as of November 1, 2025 amounted to 2341,9 thousand people.
The natural increase in the population in January-October 2025 amounted to 16798 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year –18824 people).
The number of births as January-October 2025 amounted to 27067 people (6,6% less than in January-October 2024), the number of deaths amounted to 10269 people (1,3% more than in January-October 2024).
The balance of migration is positive and amounted to 33048 people (in January-October 2024 – 32797 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of - 2444 people (4132), in internal – positive – 30604 people (28665).
The number of unemployed in the IІI quarter of 2025 amounted to 51,9 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,4% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of December 1, 2025 amounted to 40026 people, or 3,4% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the IІI quarter of 2025 amounted to 564261 tenge, an increase compared to the IІI quarter of 2024 amounted to 15,9%.
The real wage index in IІI quarter 2025 was 102,6%.
In the ІI quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population, according to the estimate, amounted to 371481 tenge, which is 10,9% higher than in ІI quarter 2024, the decline rate of real cash income for the specified period is -1,7%.
The volume of industrial production in January-November 2025 amounted to 2234777 million tenge in current prices, which is 15% more than in January-November 2024.
In the manufacturing industry production volumes increased by 16,8%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air - by 3,9%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities - by 2,5%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-November 2025 amounted to 7739,3 million tenge, or 105,2% by January-November 2024.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-November 2025 amounted to 21093,2 million t-km (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 98,8% compared to January-November 2024.
The volume of passenger turnover in January-November 2025 amounted to 21714,1 million p-km, or 124,6% by January-November 2024.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 809043,2 million tenge, or 138,3% compared to January-November 2024.
In January-November 2025, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 2,9 % and amounted to 2362,4 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings - by 8,8% (2069,8 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation decreased by 22,9% (292,6 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-November 2025 amounted to 1924112,1 million tenge, or 119,1% by January-November 2024.
The number of registered legal entities as of December 1, 2025 amounted to 157839 units and increased by 3,5% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 156087 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 116494 units, including 114824 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the city amounted to 148079 units and increased by 3,7% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2025 amounted to 13539215,3 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, real GRP increased by 6.5%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 6,9%, services – 83,2%.
The consumer price index in November 2025 compared to December 2024 was 110,3%.
Prices for food products increased by 10,3%, non-food products – by 8,1%, paid services for the population – by 11,9%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in November 2025 compared to December 2024 increased by 8,4%.
The volume of retail trade in January-November 2025 amounted to 7683180,6 million tenge, or 9,3% more than the corresponding period in 2024.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-November 2025 amounted to 16779238,3 million tenge, or 106,1% compared to the corresponding period in 2024.
According to preliminary data, in January-October 2025, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 6851 million US dollars and increased by 8,9% compared to January- October 2024, including exports –1994,7 million US dollars (by 7,6% increased ), imports – 4856,3 million US dollars(by 9,4% increased).
