The population of the Mangystau region as of April 1, 2026 amounted to 823 thousand people, including 386,5 thousand people (47%) - urban, 436,5 thousand people (53%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-March 2026 amounted to 3130 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 3501 people).
The number of births as January-March 2026 amounted to 3969 people (7,1% less than in January-March 2025),the number of deaths amounted to 839 people (8,5% more than in January-March 2025).
The balance of migration was negative and amounted to - 76 people (in January-March 2025 - 336 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of - 890 people (742), in internal - negative balance - -814 people and (-406).
The number of unemployed in the І quarter of 2026 amounted to 20 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 5% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of May 1, 2026 amounted to 22083 people, or 5,6% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the І quarter of 2026 amounted to 659801 tenge, an increase compared to the І quarter of 2025 amounted to 6,2%.
The real wage index in І quarter 2026 was 94,9%.
In the ІV quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 285674 tenge, which is 6,7% higher than in ІV quarter 2024, the rate of decline in real cash income for the specified period is 4,6%.
The volume of industrial production in April 2026 amounted to 1346807 million tenge in current prices, which is 3% more in April 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes decreased by 2,7%, in the manufacturing industry it increased by 36,2%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was increased by 16,4%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination increased by 5,8%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-April 2026 amounted to 10768,6 million tenge, or 98,5% by January-April 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-April 2026 amounted to 10727,8 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 95,7% compared to January-April 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic in January-April 2026 amounted to 1963,4 million pkm, or 89,4% by January-April 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 89241 million tenge, or 104,6% compared to January-April 2025.
In January-April 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 4,2% and amounted to 129 thousand square meters, ofwhichin multi-apartment buildings increased by 17,4% (78,3 thousand square meters). Atthe same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation increased by 3,7% (50,2 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-April 2026 amounted to 220461 million tenge, or 70,2% by January-April 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of May 1, 2026 amounted to 18651 units and increased by 2,5% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 18265 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 16219 units, including 15834 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 16454 units and decreased by 2,9% compared to the corresponding date of the including year.
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure efficiency and is based on changes in output indices for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, accounting for over 60% of GDP.
The volume of gross regional product for January-December 2025 amounted toat current prices 5620541,6 million tenge Compared to the corresponding period of 2024, real GRP increased by 12,3%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 49,3%, services 41,1%.
The consumer price index in April 2026 compared to December 2025 was 104%.
Prices for food products increased by 4,9%, non-food products - by 3,3%, paid services for the population - by 3,1%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in December 2025 compared to March 2026 increased in prise by - 23,6%.
The volume of retail trade in January-April 2026 amounted to 127127,8 million tenge, or 1,7% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-April 2026 amounted to 162836,3 million tenge, or 2,9% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-March 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 44,6 million US dollars and decreased by 11% compared to January-March 2025, including exports - 3 million US dollars (45,6% less), imports - 41,6 million US dollars (6,6% less).
