The population of the Mangystau region as of September 1, 2026 amounted to 826,3 thousand people, including 391,8 thousand people (47,4%) - urban, 434,4 thousand people (52,6%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-August 2026 amounted to 7995 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 9160 people).
The number of births as January-August 2026 amounted to 10334 people (9,3% less than in January-August 2025),the number of deaths amounted to 2339 people (4,3% more than in January-August 2025).
The balance of migration was negative and amounted to - -1468 people (in January-August 2025 - 742 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of - 1132 people (2212), in internal - negative balance - -2600 people and (-1470).
The number of unemployed in the ІІ quarter of 2026 amounted to 19,8 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 5% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of October 1, 2026 amounted to 23383 people, or 5,8% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the ІІ quarter of 2026 amounted to 673656 tenge, an increase compared to the IІ quarter of 2025 amounted to 7%.
The real wage index in ІІ quarter 2026 was 96,1%.
In the ІІ quarter of 2026 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 289938 tenge, which is 4,2% higher than in ІІ quarter 2025, the rate of decline in real cash income for the specified period is 2,2%.
The volume of industrial production in January-September 2026 amounted to 2987795 million tenge in current prices, which is 5,7% more in January-September 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes decreased by 1,2%, in the manufacturing industry it increased by 33,5%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was increased by 0,8%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination increased by 9,3%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-September 2026 amounted to 34183,8 million tenge, or 100,7% by January-September 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-September 2026 amounted to 24619,7 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 100,6% compared to January-September 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic in January-September 2026 amounted to 4986,8 million pkm, or 96,9% by January-September 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 279144,4 million tenge, or 106,4% compared to January-September 2025.
In January-September 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 12% and amounted to 367,2 thousand square meters, ofwhichin multi-apartment buildings increased by 18,3% (209,8 thousand square meters). Atthe same time, the total area ofindividualresidential buildings put into operation increased by 10,6% (157,3 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-September 2026 amounted to 852204,8 million tenge, or 3,3% by January-September 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of October 1, 2026 amounted to 18544 units and increased by 2% decreased to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 18165 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 16394 units, including 16016 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 16358 units and decreased by 1,8% decreased to the corresponding date of the including year.
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure efficiency and is based on changes in output indices for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, accounting for over 66,4% of GDP.
The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2026 amounted toat current prices 2888956,8 million tenge Compared to the corresponding period of 2025, real GRP increased by 5,1%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 52,5%, services 36,6%.
The consumer price index in September 2026 compared to December 2025 was 105,6%.
Prices for food products increased by 4,3%, non-food products - by 6,2%, paid services for the population - by 7,2%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in December 2025 compared to September 2026 increased in prise by - 16%.
The volume of retail trade in January-September 2026 amounted to 405243,1 million tenge, or 1,3% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-September 2026 amounted to 507779,8 million tenge, or 7,7% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-August 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 127,6 million US dollars and decreased by 4,9% compared to January-August 2025, including exports -5,5 million US dollars (58,1% less), imports - 122,1 million US dollars (0,9% more).
