The population of the Mangystau region as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 825,8 thousand people, including 390,6 thousand people (47,3%) - urban, 435,2 thousand people (52,7%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-July 2026 amounted to 7043 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 8075 people).
The number of births as January-July 2026 amounted to 9090 people (9,5% less than in January-July 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 2047 people (3,9% more than in January-July 2025).
The balance of migration was negative and amounted to - -1089 people (in January-July 2025 - 841 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of - 1101 people (1896), in internal - negative balance - -2190 people and (-1055).
The number of unemployed in the ІІ quarter of 2026 amounted to 19,8 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 5% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 23969 people, or 6% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the І quarter of 2026 amounted to 673656 tenge, an increase compared to the IІ quarter of 2025 amounted to 7%.
The real wage index in І quarter 2026 was 96,1%.
The volume of industrial production in January-August 2026 amounted to 2673190 million tenge in current prices, which is 2,2% more in January-August 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes decreased by 1,3%, in the manufacturing industry it increased by 26,7%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was increased by 4%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination increased by 10,1%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-August 2026 amounted to 27359,5 million tenge, or 101,6% by January- August 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-August 2026 amounted to 21915,0 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 100,7% compared to January-August 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic in January-August 2026 amounted to 4427,1 million pkm, or 96,5% by January-August uly 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 244792,8 million tenge, or 113,1% compared to January-August 2025.
In January-August 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 13,1% and amounted to 343,1 thousand square meters, ofwhichin multi-apartment buildings increased by 19,3% (209,8 thousand square meters). Atthe same time, the total area ofindividualresidential buildings put into operation increased by 11,8% (133,3 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-August 2026 amounted to 747940,3 million tenge, or 1,8% by January-August 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of September 1, 2026 amounted to 18661 units and increased by 0,9% decreased to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 18281 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 16337 units, including 15958 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 16463 units and decreased by 0,7% decreased to the corresponding date of the including year.
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure efficiency and is based on changes in output indices for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, accounting for over 67,6% of GDP.
The volume of gross regional product for January-March 2026 amounted toat current prices 1158468,4 million tenge Compared to the corresponding period of 2025, real GRP increased by 2,9%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 50,3%, services 38,9%.
The consumer price index in August 2026 compared to December 2025 was 105,6%.
Prices for food products increased by 4,8%, non-food products - by 5,5%, paid services for the population - by 6,8%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in December 2025 compared to august 2026 increased in prise by - 12,7%.
The volume of retail trade in January-August 2026 amounted to 339771,1 million tenge, or 1,5% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-August 2026 amounted to 432033,5 million tenge, or 7,5% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-July 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 114,1 million US dollars and decreased by 4,2% compared to January-July 2025, including exports - 5,1 million US dollars (58,6% less), imports -109 million US dollars (2,1% more).
