The population of the region as of August 1, 2024 amounted to 797,6 thousand people, including 365,4 thousand people (45,8%) - urban, 432,2 thousand people (54,2%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-July 2024 amounted to 9482 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 10002 people).
The number of births as January-June 2024 amounted to 11636 people (1,7% less than in January-July 2023), the number of deaths amounted to 2154 people (17,1% more than in January-July 2023).
The balance of migration was positive and amounted to - 1280 people (in January-July 2023 - 1586 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of - 1892 people (2319), in internal - negative - -612 people and (-733).
The number of unemployed in the IІ quarter of 2024 amounted to 18 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 4,9% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of September 1, 2024 amounted to 18522 people, or 5,1% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the II quarter of 2024 amounted to 579838 tenge, an increase compared to the II quarter of 2023 amounted to 9,2%.
The real wage index in II quarter 2024 was 99%.
In the I quarter of 2024 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 235295 tenge, which is 13,6% higher than in I quarter 2023, the index of real cash income for the specified period is 103,1%.
The volume of industrial production in January-August 2024 amounted to 1961395 million tenge in current prices, which is 4,8% more than in January-August 2023.
In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 4,4%, in the manufacturing industry - by 17,1%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was decline by 4,9%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities - increased by 3,2%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-August 2024 amounted to 18539,2 million tenge, or 100,5% by January-August 2023.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-August 2024 amounted to 18884,9 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 100,7% compared to January-August 2023.
The volume of passenger traffic - 3950,4 million pkm, or 160,2% by January-August 2023.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 150028 million tenge, or 118,5% compared to January-August 2023.
In January-August 2024, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 1,5% and amounted to 561 thousand square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings - by 5,8% (393 thousand square meters). At the same time, the total area of individual residential buildings put into operation decreased by 7,2% (168 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-August 2024 amounted to 572135 million tenge, or 84,6% by January-August 2023.
The number of registered legal entities as of September 1, 2024 amounted to 16989 units and increased by 0,03% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 16619 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 13577 units, including 13207 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 14807 units and increased by 0,22% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure efficiency and is based on changes in output indices for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, accounting for over 60% of GDP.
The volume of gross regional product for January-March 2024 amounted to at current prices 853411,5 million tenge Compared to the corresponding period of January-March 2023, real GRP increased by 3,5%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 41,1%, services 50,8%.
The consumer price index in August 2024 compared to December 2023 was 106,2%.
Prices for food products increased by 4%, non-food products - by 7,7%, paid services for the population - by 8%. The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in August 2024 compared to December 2023 increased by 1,5%.
The volume of retail trade in January-August 2024 amounted to 266541,8 million tenge, or 8,5% more than the corresponding period in 2023.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-August 2024 amounted to 321701,7 million tenge, or 101% compared to the corresponding period in 2023.
According to preliminary data, in January-July 2024, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 110,5 million US dollars and decreased by 24,9% compared to January-July 2023, including exports - 11,6 million US dollars (by 58,9% less), imports - 98,9 million US dollars (16,8% less).
