The population of the Mangystau region as of June 1, 2026 amounted to 824,2 thousand people, including 387,6 thousand people (47%) - urban, 436,6 thousand people (53%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-May 2026 amounted to 4999 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year - 5790 people).
The number of births as January-May 2026 amounted to 6402 people (10,2% less than in January-May 2025),the number of deaths amounted to 1403 people (4,2% more than in January-May 2025).
The balance of migration was negative and amounted to - -556 people (in January-May 2025 - 980 people), including in external migration - a positive balance of - 1055 people (1353), in internal - negative balance - -1611 people and (-373).
The number of unemployed in the І quarter of 2026 amounted to 20 thousand people.
The unemployment rate was 5% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of June 1, 2026 amounted to 21909 people, or 5,5% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the І quarter of 2026 amounted to 659801 tenge, an increase compared to the І quarter of 2025 amounted to 6,2%.
The real wage index in І quarter 2026 was 94,9%.
The volume of industrial production in January-June 2026 amounted to 2050899,3 million tenge in current prices, which is 3,6% more in January-June 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes decreased by 2,3%, in the manufacturing industry it increased by 38,9%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was increased by 14,2%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination increased by 13,1%.
The volume of gross output of agricultural products (services) in January-June 2026 amounted to 17862,6 million tenge, or 101,9% by January-June 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January-June 2026 amounted to 16249,9 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 101,9% compared to January-June 2025.
The volume of passenger traffic in January-June 2026 amounted to 3104,6 million pkm, or 91,8% by January-June 2025.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 178337,9 million tenge, or 111,8% compared to January-June 2025.
In January-June 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 4,6% and amounted to 275 thousand square meters,ofwhichin multi-apartment buildings increased by 12,7% (198,0 thousand square meters). Atthe same time, the total area of individualresidential buildings put into operation decreased by 4,6% (275,0 thousand square meters).
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-June 2026 amounted to 533587 million tenge, or 0,3% by January-June 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as of July 1, 2026 amounted to 18684 units and increased by 0,4% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 18304 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 16269 units, including 15890 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 16486 units and decreased by 0,8% compared to the corresponding date of the including year.
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure efficiency and is based on changes in output indices for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, accounting for over 60% of GDP.
The volume of gross regional product for January-December 2025 amounted toat current prices 5620541,6 million tenge Compared to the corresponding period of 2024, real GRP increased by 12,3%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 49,3%, services 41,1%.
The consumer price index in June l 2026 compared to December 2025 was 105%.
Prices for food products increased by 4,9%, non-food products - by 4,4%, paid services for the population - by 5,7%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in December 2025 compared to June 2026 increased in prise by - 30,1%.
The volume of retail trade in January-June 2026 amounted to 219614,2 million tenge, or 1,9% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January-June 2026 amounted to 279193,9 million tenge, or 4,5% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-May 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 78,3 million US dollars and decreased by 14,7% compared to January-May 2025, including exports - 4,2 million US dollars (64,7% less), imports -74,1 million US dollars (7,1% less).
