Population size and migration

Population of the Pavlodar region as of July 1, 2026 amounted to 743,2 thousand people, including 532,2 thousand people (71,6%) – urban residents, 211 thousand people (28,4%) – rural residents.

Natural population growth in January-June 2026 amounted to 202 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 775 people). For January-June 2026 the number of births was 3825 people (7,9% less than in January-June 2025), the number of deaths was 3623 people (7,2% more than in January-June 2025).

The migration balance is negative and amounted to – -2212 people (in January-June 2025 – -3590 people), including in external migration a positive balance of –198 people (239), in internal migration a negative balance of – -2410 people (-3829).

Labor

The number of unemployed in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 19,5 thousand people.

The unemployment rate was 4,9% of the labor force.

The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 14788 people, or 3,7% of the labor force.

The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 448906 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 12,4%.

The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 99,6%.

Industry statistics

The volume of industrial production at current prices in January-July 2026 amounted to 2548169,5 million tenge, which is 7,1% more than in January-July 2025.

In the manufacturing industry production volumes increasedby 10,7%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning – by 6,1%, in the water supply; sanitation; waste collection, treatment and disposal, pollution elimination activities – by 51,6%, in the мining and quarrying decreased by 3%.

The volume of gross output of agriculture, forestry and fisheries products (services) in January-July 2026 amounted to 145093,7 million tenge, or 104,6% by January-July 2025.

The volume of cargo turnover in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 17235,8 million tkm (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 90,7% compared to January- Jule 2025. The volume of passenger traffic – 1176,1 million pkm, or 96,5% by January-Jule 2025.

The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 235 billion tenge, or 132% of the corresponding period of last year.

In January-Jule 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 2,2% and amounted to 179791 square meters, of which in multi-apartment buildings increased by 82,7% (111538 square meters). In this case the total area of commissioned individual residential buildings decreased by 44,1% (62217 square meters).

The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 647 billion tenge, or 111,9% of the corresponding period of last year.

The number of registered legal entities as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 16867 units and decreased by 1,2% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year, including 16508 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 14227 units, including 13868 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 14311 units and decreased by 1,5% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.

Economics

The volume of gross regional product for January-March2026 amounted to 1438391,3 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period in 2025, real GRP increased by 7,9%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 51,7%, services –40,6%.

The consumer price index in Jule 2026 compared to December 2025 was 104,7%.

Prices for food products increased by 4,5%, non-food products – by 5,3%, paid services for the population – by 4,5%.

The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in Jule 2026 ompared to December 2025 increased by 7,1%.

The volume of retail trade in January-July 2026 amounted to 446,4 billion tenge, or 3,3% more than the corresponding period in 2025.

The volume of wholesale trade in January-July 2026 amounted to 851,5 billion tenge, or 41,2% more than the corresponding period in 2025.

According to preliminary data, in January-June 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to
754,8 million US dollars and decreased by 6,3% compared to January-June 2025, including exports – 389,9 million US dollars (2,8% less), and imports – 364,9 million US dollars (9,8% less).
