Population size and migration

The population of the region as ofDecember1, 2025 amounted to 219.2 thousand people, including 174.2 thousand people (79.5%) - urban, 44.9 thousand people (20.5%) - rural residents.

The natural increase in the population in January-November2025 amounted to 1597people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 2095 people).

The number of births as January- November 2025 amounted to 3239people (15.2%less than in January-November2024), the number of deaths amountedto1642 people (4.8%less than in January-November2024).

The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -3687people (in January-November2024 – -2362 people), including in external migration – -26 people (-10), in internal – -3661people (-2352).

Labor and income

The number of unemployed in the IIІ quarter of2025 amountedto4186 people.

The unemployment rate was 4.1% of the labor force.

The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of January 1, 2026 amounted to743 people, or 1.7 % of the labor force.

The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in theIІIquarter of 2025 amounted to   554 277 tenge, an increase compared to the II quarter of 2024 amounted to 7.5%.

The real wage index in IIІ quarter 2025 was 94.9%.

In the III quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 323558tenge, which is 12.6%higher than in II quarter 2024, rate of lower real cash income for the specified period is 99.4%.

Industry statistics

The volume of industrial production in January-December 2025 amounted to 1 534 985.3 million tenge in current prices, which is 1.2%more than in January-December 2024.

In the mining industry, production volumes decreased by 0.5%, in the manufacturing industry -increased by 3.2%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was by 9.3%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities -volumes decreased by 7.7%.

The volume of gross output of agriculture, forestry and fisheries products (services) in January-December 2025 amounted to 73 218 million tenge, or 0.9%more then inJanuary-December 2024.

The volume of cargo turnover in January-December 2025 amounted to 14 490.2 million t-km (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 103.4% compared to January-December 2024.

The volume of passenger traffic – 935.3 million p-km, or 88.4% by January-December2024.

The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 191 492.5 million tenge, or 129.7% compared to January-December 2024.

In January-December 2025, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 1.4% and amounted to 109.8 thousand square meters.

The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-December 2025 amounted to 259 626.7 million tenge, or 103.4%byJanuary-December 2024.

The number of registered legal entities as January 1, 2026 amounted to 2876 units and decreased by 1.2%, the corresponding period last year, including2783 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 2582 units, including 2490 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 1947 units and decreased by0.6%compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.

Economics

The volume of gross regional product for January-June 2025 amounted 1 009 513.7 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January-June 2024, real GRP increased by 26.4%. In the structure ofGRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 68.7%, services – 29.4%

The consumer price index in Desember 2025 compared to December 2024 was 113.4%.

In Desember 2025 compared to December2024was prices for food products increased by 16.5%, non-food products – by 12%,    paid services for   the population – by 10.8%.

The prices of enterprises producing industrial products inDesember2025 compared to December2024 increased10.9%.

The volume of retail trade in January-December2025 amounted to 126 428.8 million tenge, or 1.5% more than the corresponding period in 2024.

The volume of wholesale trade in January-December2025 amounted to 140 108.6 million tenge, or 0.5% more than amounted to the less period in 2024.

According to preliminary data, in January-November 2025, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 49.1 million US dollars and decreased to 8.3% compared to January- November 2024, including exports – 7.6 million US dollars (by 51.5% less), imports –41.6 million US dollars (9.5% more).
