The population of the region as of July, 2026 amounted to 218.0 thousand people, including 173.5 thousand people (79.6%) - urban, 44.5 thousand people (20.4%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-June 2026 amounted to 723 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 818 people).
The number of births as January- June 2026 amounted to 1573 people (10.2% less than in January-June 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 850 people (8.9% less than in January-June 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -1757 people (in January-June 2025 – -1842 people), including in external migration –18 people (-37), in internal – -1739 people (-1805).
The number of unemployed in the II quarter of 2026 amounted to 3595 people.
The unemployment rate was 4.0% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of August 1, 2026 amounted to 2734 people, or 3.0% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the І quarter of 2026 amounted to 655 995 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 9.5%.
The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 96.6%.
The volume of industrial production in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 1 278 519.7 million tenge in current prices, which is 10.4% more than in January-Jule 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 12.6%, in the manufacturing industry -increased by 6.5%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was by 14.4%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities -volumes increased by 33.6%.
The volume of gross output of agriculture, forestry and fisheries products (services) in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 32 795,4 million tenge, or 0.5% more then in January-Jule 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January- July 2026 amounted to 7 575.8 million t-km (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 104.3% compared to January- July 2026.
The volume of passenger traffic – 458.7 million p-km, or 86.4% by January- July 2026.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 179 233.4 million tenge, or 300.2% compared to January-Jule 2025.
In January-June 2026, the total area of housing put into operation decreased by 26.1% and amounted to 40.4 thousand square meters.
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-Jule 2026 amounted to 223 290.5 million tenge, or 194.4 % by January-Jule 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as August 1, 2026 amounted to 2902 units and decreased by 2.3%, the corresponding period last year, including 2810 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 2618 units, including 2526 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 1984 units and decreased by 1.4% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-Match 2026 amounted 675 942.1 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January- Match 2025, real GRP increased by 32.2%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 73.1%, services – 25.1%
The consumer price index in Jule 2026 compared to December 2025 was 107.0%.
In Jule 2026 compared to December 2025 was prices for food products increased by– 7.7%, non-food products – by 5.1%, paid services forthe population – by 8.3%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in Jule 2026 compared to December 2025 increased 3.6%.
The volume of retail trade January- July 2026 amounted to 75 292.7 million tenge, or 1.8% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January- July 2026 amounted to 74 161.5 million tenge, or 2.4% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-June 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 25.6 million US dollars and decreased to 14.4% compared to January- June 2025, including exports – 2 million US dollars (by 66.4% less), imports –23.5 million US dollars (1.2% less).
