The population of the region as of June, 2026 amounted to 218.2 thousand people, including 173.6 thousand people (79.6%) - urban, 44.6 thousand people (20.4%) - rural residents.
The natural increase in the population in January-May 2026 amounted to 628 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 671 people).
The number of births as January- May 2026 amounted to 1303 people (10.7% less than in January-May 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 675 people (13.7% less than in January-May 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -1508 people (in January-May 2025 – -1393 people), including in external migration –3 people (-27), in internal – -1505 people (-1366).
The number of unemployed in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 3994people.
The unemployment rate was 4.1% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of June 1, 2026 amounted to 2677 people, or 2.7% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the І quarter of 2026 amounted to 655 995 tenge, an increase compared to the I quarter of 2025 amounted to 9.5%.
The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 96.6%.
The volume of industrial production in January-June 2026 amounted to 1 076 010.3 million tenge in current prices, which is 10.8%more than in January-June 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 14.1%, in the manufacturing industry -increased by 5.3%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was by 14.7%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities -volumes increased by 23.3%.
The volume of gross output of agriculture, forestry and fisheries products (services) in January-June 2026 amounted to 25 900.8 million tenge, reaching 100% of the level recorded in January-June 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January- June 2026 amounted to 6 525.2 million t-km (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 104.6% compared to January- June 2026.
The volume of passenger traffic – 390.7 million p-km, or 87.7% by January- June 2026.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 160 259.2 million tenge, or 331.1% compared to January-June 2025.
In January-June 2026, the total area of housing put into operation increased by 13.9% and amounted to 38.8 thousand square meters.
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-June 2026 amounted to 159 924.5 million tenge, or 199.2 %byJanuary-June 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as July 1, 2026 amounted to 2900 units and decreased by 1.97%, the corresponding period last year, including 2808 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 2613 units, including 2521 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 1982 units and decreased by 0.9% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-Match 2026 amounted 675 942.1 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January- Match 2025, real GRP increased by 32.2%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 73.1%, services – 25.1%
The consumer price index in June 2026 compared to December 2025 was 106.4%.
In June 2026 compared to December 2025 was prices for food products increased by– 7.4%, non-food products – by 4.7%,paid services forthe population – by 7.0%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in June 2026 compared to December 2025 increased 1.2%.
The volume of retail trade January- June 2026 amounted to 62 657.2 million tenge, or 2% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January- June 2026 amounted to 61 337.9 million tenge, or 1.9% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-May 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 20.6 million US dollars and decreased to 9.9% compared to January- May 2025, including exports – 1.8 million US dollars (by 35.9% less), imports –18.8 million US dollars (6.1% less).
