The natural increase in the population in January-April 2026 amounted to 462 people (in the corresponding period of the previous year – 550 people).
The number of births as January- April 2026 amounted to 1005 people (13.7% less than in January-April 2025), the number of deaths amounted to 543 people (11.4% less than in January-April 2025).
The balance of migration is negative and amounted to -1260 people (in January-April 2025 – -1170 people), including in external migration – 9 people (-16), in internal – -1269 people (-1154).
The number of unemployed in the I quarter of 2026 amounted to 3994 people.
The unemployment rate was 4.1% of the labor force.
The number of persons registered with employment agencies as unemployed as of May 1, 2026 amounted to 2518 people, or 2.6% of the labor force.
The average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (excluding small enterprises engaged in entrepreneurial activities) in the І quarter of 2026 amounted to 655 995 tenge, an increase compared to the Iquarter of 2025 amounted to 9.5%.
The real wage index in I quarter 2026 was 96.6%.
In the IV quarter of 2025 the average per capita nominal cash income of the population of the region, according to the estimate, amounted to 369 772 tenge, which is 16.1% higher than in IV quarter 2024, Rate of increase real cash income for the specified period is 1.9%.
The volume of industrial production in January-May 2026 amounted to 856 484.4 million tenge in current prices, which is 14.6% more than in January-May 2025.
In the mining industry, production volumes increased by 16.8%, in the manufacturing industry -increased by 11.6%, in the supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and conditioned air there was by 8%, in water supply, collection, processing and waste disposal, pollution elimination activities -volumes increased by 13.4%.
The volume of gross output of agriculture, forestry and fisheries products (services) in January-May 2026 amounted to 19 375.5 million tenge, or 0.3% less then in January-May 2025.
The volume of cargo turnover in January- May 2026 amounted to 5 355.2 million t-km (taking into account the assessment of the volume of cargo turnover of individual entrepreneurs engaged in commercial transportation), or 93.4% compared to January- May 2026.
The volume of passenger traffic – 325.6 million p-km, or 89.4% by January- May 2026.
The volume of construction works (services) amounted to 87 522.2 million tenge, or 325% compared to January-May 2025.
In January-May 2026, the total area of housing put into operation decreased by 8.6% and amounted to 20.7 thousand square meters.
The volume of investments in fixed capital in January-May 2026 amounted to 125 424.7 million tenge, or 246.9% by January-May 2025.
The number of registered legal entities as June 1, 2026 amounted to 2898 units and decreased by 1.7%, the corresponding period last year, including 2804 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating legal entities amounted to 2612 units, including 2518 units - small businesses. The number of registered small and medium enterprises (legal entities) in the region amounted to 1981 units and decreased by 0.6% compared to the corresponding date of the previous year.
The volume of gross regional product for January-December 2025 amounted 2 986 088,7 million tenge at current prices. Compared to the corresponding period of January- December 2024, real GRP increased by 20%. In the structure of GRP, the share of production of goods amounted to 73.2%, services – 25.5%
The consumer price index in May 2026 compared to December 2025 was 105.8%.
In May 2026 compared to December 2025 was prices for food products increased by – 7%, non-food products – by 4.5%, paid services forthe population – by 5.4%.
The prices of enterprises producing industrial products in May 2026 compared to December 2025 decreased 0.3%.
The volume of retail trade January- May 2026 amounted to 49 676 million tenge, or 1.9% more than the corresponding period in 2025.
The volume of wholesale trade in January- May 2026 amounted to 48 477.4 million tenge, or 100% compared to the corresponding period in 2025.
According to preliminary data, in January-April 2026, mutual trade with the EAEU countries amounted to 11.2 million US dollars and decreased to 29.8% compared to January- April 2025, including exports – 1.6 million US dollars (by 39.8% less), imports –9.6 million US dollars (27.9% less).
