In March 2023, 162,4 thousand units of motor vehicles were registered, compared to the corresponding period of the previous  year, the indicator increased by 2,3 times, including passenger cars and buses -2,3 times, trucks  2,4 times.

The short-term economic indicator inJanuary-April 2023 compared with January-April 2022 was 105.5%.

In the I quarter of 2023, the unemployment rate in Kazakhstan, calculated according to the International Labour Organisation's methodology (who did not have a profitable occupation (job), were actively looking for it and were ready to start it), amounted to 4.8%.

Volume of retail trade in January-April of 2023 year amounted 4825.9 billion tenge or 10.5% more than in the corresponding period of 2022 year.

The average value of nominal wages in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the I quarter of 2023 amounted to 340636 tenge. The growth by the corresponding quarter of 2022 was 19.3%, in real terms, a decrease of 0.6%.

Inflation in April 2023 was 16.8% year-on-year. Prices for food products increased by 17.9%, non–food products - by 18.2%, paid services – by 13.7%.

As of January 1, 2023, there were 3,917 public libraries, 3,102 cultural and leisure organizations, 271 museums, 208 amusement and recreation parks, 105 cinemas, 73 theaters, 44 concert organizations, 13 zoos and 3 circuses in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Bureau of National Statistics held a meeting with journalists, where they presented alternative tools for collecting data for calculating inflation. At the event, representatives of the Bureau spoke about the methodology for calculating inflation, and also presented innovations introduced for high-quality data collection. The new methods involve monitoring inflation based on data from fiscal checks and collecting data through a mobile application.

In February 2023, 157,9 thousand units of motor vehicles were registered, compared to the corresponding period last year, the indicator increased by 74,5%, including passenger cars - by 72,3%, trucks 2 times and buses 2,5 times increased.

The industrial production index in January-March 2023 amounted to 102.8%. During this period, industrial products were produced in the amount of 11,234 billion tenge, of which in the mining industry - by 5,252 billion tenge (46.8% of the total), in the processing industry - by 5,109 billion tenge (45.5%).
