Inflation in the Republic of Kazakhstan

In June 2025, the monthly consumer price index slowed down and amounted to 0.8% (in May 2025 – 0.9%).

A decrease in prices was noted for cucumbers by 19.5%, cabbage – by 18.1%, tomatoes – by 15%, garlic – by 8.4%, bananas – by 3.4%, eggs – by 3%. Prices increased for the following food items ice cream – by 1.9%, yogurt – by 1.6%, nuts – by 1.5%, rolls and cupcakes – by 1.3%, confectionery, cold drinks – by 1% each, sausages and wieners – by 0.9%.

In June of this year, price increases were observed for certain household appliances: air conditioner – by 3.2%, electric meat grinder – by 2.5%, iron – by 1%.

Among tariffs for hot water decreased by 6.2%. Prices increased for the following services: photography services by 3.3%, event organizer services – by 2.8%, TV repair by 2.4%, maintenance and repair of residential premises – by 1.4%, hairdressing and beauty salon services – by 1.3%.

Inflation in June 2025 was 11.8% year-on-year.

On an annual basis, prices decreased for buckwheat by 9%, rice – by 8.3%, cucumbers – by 3.5%, oatmeal – by 2.5%, and dried apricots – by 2.3%. Prices increased for ice cream by 14.3%, cold drinks – by 12.4%, cream – by 12.1%, yogurt – by 11.7%, pears – by 11.3%, canned corn – by 10.8%, fruit and vegetable juices – by 10.4%.

Among non-food products prices rose electric hair dryer by 12.7%, and vacuum cleaner – by 11.8%, blender – by 7.8%.

Compared to June 2024, tariffs for recreation, entertainment and cultural services by 9.7%, hotels – by 6.4%, cable TV services – by 2.2%.

The consumer price index, which characterizes the level of inflation, is calculated monthly. Observations are carried out on tariffs and prices for services and goods, for a total of 508 items. Dynamic changes in inflation can be viewed on a specially designed interactive dashboard, which covers indicators starting from 2018.

*From January 2025 when constructing the consumer price index, the share of food products is 40.0%, non-food products – 30,3%, paid services – 29,7%.
