In April 2025, the monthly consumer price index was 1.2% (in March 2025 – 1.3%). Prices for paid services increased by 1.9%, food products – by 1.1%, non-food products – by 0.6%.
In the sphere of housing and communal services, tariffs for garbage removal increased by 4.5%. Bathhouses services rose in price by 5%, hairdressers and beauty salons – by 2.6%, catering services – by 2%. Prices for Internet communication services and cinemas increased by 4%, sanatoriums – by 3.8%, medical laboratories and X–ray rooms – by 2.5%, dental services – by 2.1%.
Among food products, prices increased for cabbage by 20.2%, beets – by 11.7%, bulb onions – by 11.5%, carrots – by 9.2%, potatoes, lemons – by 7.1%, olive oil – by 6.6%, grapes – by 6.5%, sweet peppers – by 5.9%, salted herring – by 4%, mutton – by 3.3%, beef, sugar – by 2.2%. A decrease in prices was noted for cucumbers by 14.3%, tomatoes – by 5%, oatmeal – by 4.3%, oranges – by 2%, rice – by 0.4%, eggs – by 0.3%.
An increase in prices in April this year was noted for a gold engagement ring by 2.3%, clothing and shoes – by 1%, medicines – by 0.5%. Diesel fuel rose in price by 1.1%.
Among the regions, the highest monthly inflation was registered in Turkistan region and Almaty, Shymkent cities, 1.5% (above the national average by 0.3 percentage points), the lowest in Akmola region – 0.7%.
By region, food prices increased the most in the city of Soltustik Kazakhstan by 1.9%, non-food products in the Kyzylorda region – by 1.1%, and paid services in the city of Turkistan region – by 3.7%.
Inflation in April 2025 was 10.7% year-on-year. Prices for paid services increased by 15.7%, non-food products – by 8.9%, food products – by 8.5%.
The consumer price index, which characterizes the level of inflation, is calculated monthly. Observations are carried out on tariffs and prices for services and goods, for a total of 508 items. Dynamic changes in inflation can be viewed on a specially designed interactive dashboard, which covers indicators starting from 2018.
