In January-February 2026 compared to January-February 2025, the highest growth rates of physical volume indices are observed in the sectors of construction (114,5%), transportation and storage (110,7%) and communication (103,8%).
The lowest growth in physical volume indices occurred in the sectors of industry (96,9%) agriculture (103,4%) and trade (103,4%).
In January-February 2026 compared to January-February 2025, most regions showed positive growth rates in STEI.
The highest rates are observed in Soltustik Кazakhstan region (126,4%), Turkistan region (118,9%) and Almaty region (117%). Negative growth rates have developed in Аtyrau region (76,1%), Batys Kazakhstan region (86,6%), Shygys Kazakhstan region (87,4%), Akmola region (91,5%) and Kostanay region (97,9%).
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure timeliness and is based on changes in production indices in key sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communication which constitute over 60% of GDP.
