    The Short-Term Economic Indicator (STEI) for January-October 2025 to January-October 2024 amounted to 109,1%.
    STEI by types of economic activity and regional breakdown

    In January-October 2025 compared to January-October 2024, the highest growth rates of physical volume indices are observed in the sectors of transportation and storage (120,7%), construction (115,1%), trade (109%) and industry (107,3%).

    The lowest growth in physical volume indices occurred in the sectors of communication (104%) and agriculture (105,4%).

    In January-October 2025 compared to January- October 2024, most regions showed positive growth rates in STEI.

    The highest growth rates are seen in Astana city (119,7%), Turkistan region (114,8%), Shymkent city (114,8%) and Atyrau region (114,7%). Negative growth rates were observed in the Shygys Kazakhstan region (99,1%) and the Ulytau region (99,7%).

    Methodological explanations

    The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure timeliness and is based on changes in production indices in key sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communication which constitute over 60% of GDP.
