In January-September 2025 compared to January-September 2024, the highest growth rates of physical volume indices are observed in the sectors of transportation and storage (121,2%), construction (114,9%), trade (108,8%) and industry (107,4%).
The lowest growth in physical volume indices occurred in the sectors of communication (103,9%) and agriculture (104,4%).
In January-September 2025 compared to January-September 2024, most regions showed positive growth rates in STEI. The highest growth rates are seen in Astana city (119,4%), Turkistan region (114,8%), Shymkent city (113,7%) and Atyrau region (113,6%). Negative growth rates were observed in the Shygys Kazakhstan region (97,8%) and the Ulytau region (99,1%).
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure timeliness and is based on changes in production indices in key sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communication which constitute over 60% of GDP.
