In January-August 2025 compared to January-August 2024, the highest growth rates of physical volume indices are observed in the sectors of transportation and storage (121,5%), construction (118,1%), trade (108,9%) and industry (107,6%).
The lowest growth in physical volume indices occurred in the sectors of agriculture (103,4%) and communication (103,8%).
In January-August 2025 compared to January-August 2024, most regions showed positive growth rates in STEI. The highest growth rates are seen in Astana city (118,6%), Turkistan region (115,8%), Shymkent city (115%) and Soltustik Кazakhstan region (114%). Negative growth rates were observed in the Shygys Kazakhstan region (97,3%) and the Ulytau region (99%).
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure timeliness and is based on changes in production indices in key sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communication which constitute over 60% of GDP.
