    The Short-Term Economic Indicator (STEI) for January-July 2025 to January-July 2024 amounted to 109,3%.
    STEI by types of economic activity and regional breakdown

    In January-July 2025 compared to January-July 2024, the highest growth rates of physical volume indices are observed in the sectors of transportation and storage (122,5%), construction (118,5%), trade (108,6%) and industry (106,9%).

    The lowest growth in physical volume indices occurred in the sectors of communication (103,5%) and agriculture (103,7%).

    In January-July 2025 compared to January-July 2024, most regions showed positive growth rates in STEI. The highest growth rates are seen in Astana city (119,1%), Turkistan region (117,7%), Shymkent city (115,4%) and Soltustik Кazakhstan region (112,8%). Negative growth rates were observed in the Shygys Kazakhstan region (96,1%) and the Ulytau region (99,6%).

    Methodological explanations

    The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure timeliness and is based on changes in production indices in key sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communication which constitute over 60% of GDP.
