    The Short-Term Economic Indicator (STEI) for January-November 2024 to January- November 2023 amounted to 105,6%.
    STEI by types of economic activity and regional breakdown

    In January-November 2024 compared to January-November 2023, the highest growth rates of physical volume indices are observed in the sectors of agriculture (113.4%), construction (110,3%), trade (108,2%) and transportation and storage (108,1%).

    The lowest growth in physical volume indices occurred in the sectors of industry (102,7%) and communication (105,3%).

    In January- November 2024 compared to January- November 2023, most regions showed positive growth rates in STEI. The highest growth rates are seen in Soltustik Kazakhstan (118,9%), Karagandy (114.6%) and Zhetisu (112,3%) regions. Negative growth rates were observed in Atyrau region (92,2%).

    Methodological explanations

    The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure timeliness and is based on changes in production indices in key sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport, andcommunication which constitute over 60% of GDP.
