In January-March 2025 compared to January-March 2024, the highest growth rates of physical volume indices are observed in the sectors of transportation and storage (121,0%), construction (116,9%), industry (106,7%) and trade (106,3%).
The lowest growth in physical volume indices occurred in the sectors of communication (99,6%) and agriculture (103,7%).
In January-March 2025 compared to January-March 2024, most regions showed positive growth rates in STEI. The highest growth rates are seen in Astana city (124,7%), Turkistan region (117,5%), Zhetisu region (116,5%) and Shymkent city (116.5%). Negative growth rates have developed in Shygys Kazakhstan region (92,3%) and Ulytau region (99,8%).
The calculation of the short-term economic indicator is carried out to ensure timeliness and is based on changes in production indices in key sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport, andcommunication which constitute over 60% of GDP.
