In 2024 the volume of slaughter or sale of all types of livestock and poultry in live weight increased by 3.9% compared to 2023, milk production - by 4.5%, eggs - by 1.3%.
As of January 1, 2025, the number of horses increased by 13% compared to the same date of the previous 2024 year, camels - by 5.9%, respectively, cattle - by 20.6%, sheep and goats - by 8.3%, birds - by 3.3%. The number of pigs decreased by 0.8%.
In 2024, the average milk yield per dairy cow decreased by-0.7% (agricultural formations-increased by 7,4%) compared to 2023. The average live weight of one head of cattle slaughtered on the farm or sold for slaughter decreased by-0.6% (agricultural formations by 1,4%). At the same time average yield eggs per laying hen by – 2.1% (agricultural formations-increased by 1,9%).
* In accordance with paragraph 2 of paragraph 10 of the Rules for the Revision of Published Official Statistical Information for statistical Purposes and on the basis of updated administrative data on household accounting, a special revision of certain indicators of livestock statistics for 2023 was carried out in relation to peasant and farm farms and households of the population.
Agricultural formations include agricultural enterprises and belong to entrepreneurs and peasant or farm enterprises.
Agricultural enterprise - a legal entity or its structural subdivision engaged in the production, storage and processing of agricultural products, the provision of services in the field of agriculture;
Number of farm animals and poultry - the number of live cattle and poultry available on farms as of the reporting date;
The households of the population are personal subsidiary farms, collective gardens and orchards, summer cottages. Personal subsidiary plot - a household of the population, the activity in which is aimed at meeting their own needs on a land plot located in a rural area and a suburban area;
Productivity of livestock and poultry - an indicator characterizing the production of livestock products per head of livestock or poultry;
Slaughter on the farm or sale for slaughter of livestock and poultry - slaughter of livestock and poultry directly on the farm or at the slaughterhouse for the use of meat for own needs, for sale or distribution to organizations, enterprises and employees of the farm, including through barter transactions, as well as the sale livestock and poultry for slaughter to procurement organizations, processing enterprises, through a catering network (canteens, restaurants, cafes), a trading network, including markets, as well as for export;
Production of livestock products - production of finished products and raw materials as a result of the use of farm animals (milk, eggs, wool, skins), slaughter on the farm or sale for slaughter of all types of livestock and poultry, beekeeping and fur farming products;
Fall - the number of farm animals and poultry that died and were forced to be slaughtered as a result of illness, natural disaster, negligent attitude of workers and similar reasons;
Offspring - the number of born animals obtained from queens belonging to the holding, excluding stillborn offspring.
Data on the production of livestock products and the number of livestock and poultry are formed as follows:
- for agricultural enterprises obtained on the basis of the monthly report of form No. 24-сх "Report on the state of animal husbandry";
- for individual entrepreneurs and peasant or farm enterprises - on the basis of calculations, which are based on: data from electronic household accounting by of peasant or farm enterprises, sample surveys on the production of livestock products;
- for households - on the basis of calculations, which are based on: data from entries electronic household accounting, sample surveys of households on the production of livestock products.
