The Stat Datathon competition is aimed at finding new approaches to solving socio-economic and methodological problems based on data, as well as promoting a culture of data management and data-driven decision-making.
Participants may include both university students and data scientists, data analysts, social researchers with an understanding of economic theory and knowledge in sociology, political science, and other social sciences, as well as skills in working with statistical applications, programming languages, and BI tools.
During the competition, participants are provided with synthetic (artificial) data generated based on real data, which enables them to extensively use microdata in their project work without violating data confidentiality policies.
The annual QazDatathon competition has laid the foundation for fostering a culture of data management and analysis for making data-driven decisions, which is particularly important for young professionals.
