Definition of the Indicator
The indicator is defined as the total number of residents whose wastewater enters sewage treatment plants divided by the total number of residents in localities.
Methodology for Calculation
D=(N/M)*100, where: D – coverage of the population by wastewater treatment in cities of national importance and regional centers; ;(result, source – data from the Housing and Communal Services Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan) N is the number of people living in cities of republican significance and regional centers connected to existing sewage treatment plants. (source – data from the Ministry of Economic Development), M is the total population in cities of national significance and regional centers, people (source – BNS ASPiR RK data).
