Definition of the Indicator
Personal transfers represent household income coming from foreign countries and arising mainly in connection with temporary or permanent relocation to these countries. The indicator allows you to estimate the amount of informal financing to the country
Methodology for Calculation
Personal transfers are the sum of two articles defined in the sixth edition of the IMF Balance of Payments Manual: personal transfers and employee compensation. The indicator is calculated as the ratio of personal transfers in US dollars to gross domestic product.
