Definition of the Indicator
Distribution of agricultural land by land-use composition refers to the distribution of the area of agricultural land according to the types of land use included in its composition: arable land, fallow land, perennial plantations, hayfields, pastures, and other lands. This indicator characterizes the structure of agricultural land use and reflects the area of each land-use type within the total area of land in this category.

Methodology for Calculation
Data collection is carried out on the basis of the annual land balance data compiled by the authorized body in the field of land resources management, through the classification of agricultural land by land-use types and the determination of their area.
Source of the Indicator
The indicator is compiled in accordance with the annual consolidated analytical report on the state and use of land in the Republic of Kazakhstan prepared by the Land Resources Management Committee of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Notes
The Turkistan Region and the city of Shymkent (a city of republican significance) were established in 2018; the Abai, Jetisu, and Ulytau regions were established in 2022.
