The short-term economic indicator inJanuary-April 2023 compared with January-April 2022 was 105.5%. Calculation of the short-term economic indicatoris implemented to ensure efficiency and is based on the change in output indexes for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, constituting over 60% of GDP.



The number of registered legal entities as of May 1,2023 was 516131 units and compared with the corresponding periodof the previous year increased by 6%, including 507074 units with less than100 employees. The number of operating entities was 416564 including 407648 small businesses (less than100 employees).

The consumer price index in April 2023 compared to December 2022was 104.2%. The food prices have increased by 5%, non-food– by 3.8%, paid services –by 3.3%. Prices ofindustrial products in April 2023 compared to December 2022 has decreased by 3.4%.

Social sector

Per capita nominal income of the population estimated in March 2023 was 167836 tenge (preliminary data) which is17.9% higher compared to March2022, the real monetary income in March2023decreased by 0.2%.

The number of unemployed people estimated in April 2023was451.5thousand people. The unemployment rate was 4.8% of the labor force. Number of persons registered with employment offices as unemployed at the end of April 2023 was286.1 thousand people or 3% of the labor force.
