The industrial production index in January-March 2023 amounted to 102.8%. During this period, industrial products were produced in the amount of 11,234 billion tenge, of which in the mining industry - by 5,252 billion tenge (46.8% of the total), in the processing industry - by 5,109 billion tenge (45.5%).

Growth in production is observed in the mining and quarrying industry by 0.2%, manufacturing - by 5.4%, supply of electricity, gas, steam, hot water and air conditioning - by 6.1%, water supply; collection, processing and disposal of waste, activities for the elimination of pollution - by 6.7%.

Among the regions, the largest growth was recorded in Soltustik Kazakhstan, Ulytau, Akmola, Zhetisu, Abay, Almaty regions and Almaty city.

In the mining industry and quarrying, in January-March 2023, the industrial production index amounted to 100.2%, due to an increase in the production of crude oil (100.7%), natural gas (101.2%), ores, except for iron (104, 3%) and other minerals (122.7%).

In the manufacturing industry, the production index in the reporting period compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to 105.4%. Growth was noted in the production of food products by 8.1%, beverages - by 12.5%, refined products - by 4%, basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceuticals - by 8.1%, rubber and plastic products - by 13.5% , finished metal products, except for machinery and equipment - by 14.6%, mechanical engineering - by 35.3%.
