The Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Bureau of National Statistics of the People's Republic of China signed a memorandum of cooperation.

As part of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of statistics, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Bureau of National Statistics of the People's Republic of China signed a memorandum of understanding.

The Memorandum, signed by the head of the Bureau of National Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Maxat Turlubayev, and the director of the Bureau of National Statistics of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Kang Yi, is aimed at establishing sustainable and productive relations between the two agencies.

The purpose of the document is to develop cooperation in key areas of statistics, including:

  • Modernization of statistical systems: the exchange of experience and technologies in coordinating and managing the data ecosystem to improve the effectiveness and reliability of statistical information.
  • Use of «Big data» and new technologies: joint efforts to implement innovative approaches in statistical practice, including the use of Earth remote sensing data.
  • Exchange of experience in creating online reporting platforms: the development and implementation of modern platforms for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of statistical data, which will help improve the transparency and accessibility of official statistics.

«The signing of the memorandum is an important step towards establishing a productive partnership between our organizations. Participation in joint research, information exchange, and knowledge transfer contribute to improving the quality of statistical data and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the necessary information for making strategic decisions» noted the head of the Bureau of Statistics of Kazakhstan, Maxat Turlubayev.

The parties also discussed a plan of joint activities and programs aimed at developing statistical reporting, data collection standards, and information analysis. In the future, training events are planned to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of statistics.
