The Bureau of National Statistics hosted a delegation from Rosstat
The Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted a delegation from the Federal State Statistics Service of the Russian Federation (Rosstat), headed by the heads of relevant departments. The two-day working visit took place within the framework of the Roadmap for the Development of Cooperation for 2025–2026.
The discussions focused on the development of human resources and corporate culture, promoting official statistics and improving statistical literacy, as well as enhancing approaches to ensuring the quality of statistical data.
Opening the working meetings, Deputy Head of the Bureau of National Statistics Farkhat Kaliyev emphasized the importance of further developing professional cooperation between the two statistical agencies.
“We highly value the professional dialogue that has developed between our statistical agencies, our openness to sharing experience and our willingness to share practical solutions. Such meetings not only provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices, but also strengthen professional ties between our teams,” said Farkhat Kaliyev.
During the visit, the discussions were organized around three key areas.
The first area focused on human resource development and corporate culture. Participants discussed the development of professional competencies, building effective teams and approaches to the professional development of employees.
The second area focused on promoting official statistics and improving statistical literacy among the population. The two sides exchanged experience in engaging with data users, developing communication approaches and disseminating statistical information.
The third and key area focused on ensuring the quality of official statistical data. Representatives of the two agencies reviewed approaches to quality management and exchanged practical solutions for improving relevant processes.
Cooperation between the Bureau and Rosstat is systematic in nature. As part of the implementation of the Roadmap, specialists from the two agencies have already held a number of online consultations and working meetings on labor compensation statistics, the agricultural census, the construction price index, population living standards indicators and other areas.
Following the working visit, the two sides updated their joint action plan for the next two years and agreed to continue exchanging methodological and practical solutions in the field of official statistics.
