The Bureau initiated cooperation with the Singapore Department of Statistics

Today, the Bureau of National Statistics held an online meeting with Dr. Koh Eng Chuan, Chief Statistician of the Singapore Department of Statistics. The meeting marked an important step toward establishing a partnership between the two countries for experience-sharing and mutual development.

In his welcome remarks, Maxat Turlubayev, Head of the Bureau, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, emphasizing its significance for shared success and progress.

“Dr. Koh Eng Chuan, I am pleased that through your participation, our statistical offices are beginning to cooperate. I hope this collaboration will be long-term, successful, and fruitful”, he noted.

Mr. Turlubayev emphasized that the Bureau is currently undergoing a major transformational phase, implementing new working methods and data sources to adapt to rapidly evolving conditions in digital technology and statistics. He noted that such processes are relevant for many countries and that sharing experiences is essential for joint development.

During the meeting, the parties discussed key issues related to the production, collection, and processing of economic statistical data. Both sides emphasized the importance of using artificial intelligence to enhance the analytical capacity of statistical activities.

The Bureau expresses its gratitude to the Singapore Department of Statistics for its openness to cooperation and is confident that this partnership will yield meaningful results for both sides.
