President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of state statistics in Kazakhstan, highlighting the special importance of the sector for the country’s development.
The President’s congratulatory message was read out at the international forum Digital Transformation of National Statistical Systems, dedicated to the 105th anniversary of state statistics in Kazakhstan, by the Chairman of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Asset Irgaliyev.
“Dear employees and veterans of state statistics! I congratulate you on the 105th anniversary of the statistical authorities of Kazakhstan.
The statistical service of our country has come a long way of development, continuously improving in line with the challenges and demands of the time. Today, it plays a key role in public administration and in the progressive development of our economy and society. On the basis of statistical data, an objective picture of processes in the economy and society is formed, long-term forecasts are prepared, and well-balanced decisions are made.
In the context of rapidly changing realities, the reliability and accessibility of information are of particular importance. It is necessary to comprehensively use various data sources, compare them, apply new approaches and tools, and strengthen analytical work.
A priority task is the full-scale introduction of artificial intelligence technologies. The statistical service is expected to become one of the key participants in the country’s digital transformation.
The achievements of your sector are the result of the diligent work and professionalism of its specialists. Your work requires high qualifications, responsibility and full dedication.
I am confident that, while maintaining your commitment to the cause, you will continue to make an important contribution to the sustainable development of Kazakhstan.
I wish you well-being and further success!” the congratulatory message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan reads.
More than 150 representatives of international organizations, national statistical offices of various countries, as well as government bodies, academic and expert communities are taking part in the two-day event.
It should be recalled that the official history of Kazakhstan’s statistics dates back to 8 November 1920, when the Regulation on State Statistics was approved and the Statistical Office of the Kazakh ASSR was established. In 1998, by a Presidential Decree, 8 November was declared Statistics Day.
