Kazakhstan rises to 44th position in the Global Open Data Inventory (ODIN) ranking

Kazakhstan has improved its position in the global Open Data Inventory (ODIN) ranking, moving from 51st to 44th place (54th in 2020 among 187 countries, 51st in 2022 among 195 countries).

In 2024, Kazakhstan achieved a total score of 72 out of 100, with the ranking assessing the openness and coverage of data across key sectors of official statistics. A particularly strong result was recorded in the "Coverage" indicator, where Kazakhstan ranked 14th among 198 countries.

The top performers in the 2024 ODIN ranking were Malaysia, with a total score of 90 points, followed by Singapore. Finland, Denmark, and Poland also placed within the top five.

The Open Data Inventory (ODIN) has been compiled annually since 2015 and assesses the openness and comprehensiveness of official statistics published on the websites of national statistical offices or other official government platforms.

ODIN’s primary objective is to identify data gaps, promote open data policies, enhance user access to information, and encourage dialogue between statistical authorities and society.
