Kazakhstan ranked 44th out of 217 countries in the World Bank's Statistical Performance Indicators ranking, improving the result by 21 positions compared to the previous year (65th place in 2023).
The World Bank annually publishes a rating on Statistical Performance Indicators (The Statistical Performance Indicators – SPI), which is formed on the basis of officially recognized international sources. It contains up-to-date and accurate data on global development, including national, regional and global estimates.
Statistical Performance Indicators reflect the capabilities of a country's national statistical system based on criteria such as data use, services provided, statistical products, data sources, and data infrastructure. The range of values is from 0 to 100, where 100 means a high level.
According to last year's data, the national statistical system of Kazakhstan received 79.8 points out of 100. The overall indicator increased due to improvements in the components "Data use" – +10, "Data sources" – +10.2, "Data infrastructure" – +10 and "Data services" – +1.1 points.
The statistical systems of Norway, Sweden and Canada are the leaders in the SPI-2024 ranking.
