A delegation from the National Bureau of Statistics of the People’s Republic of China visited the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan on a working visit to exchange experience in household surveys and methodologies for assessing living standards and employment.

The visit aims to strengthen professional interaction, study best practices, and develop effective approaches to organizing statistical observations.

The program includes meetings, presentations of methodological approaches, discussions of applied tools and technologies, as well as familiarization with the practice of conducting household surveys in Kazakhstan.

Opening the event, the Head of the Bureau, Maxat Turlubayev, emphasized the importance of international partnership and expressed appreciation to the Chinese delegation for their interest in Kazakhstan’s experience.
“It is a great honor for us to host a delegation from the Statistical Office of the People’s Republic of China. This year, Kazakhstan’s statistics celebrate their 105th anniversary. Over these years, the country’s statistical service has evolved from the first record-keeping offices to the implementation of digital technologies, big data, and modern analytical methods. We are confident that joint initiatives, experience exchange, and the development of innovative approaches will contribute to improving the quality, comparability, and reliability of statistical information,” he said.

Kazakhstan and China intend to continue their cooperation, including through expert dialogues, exchange visits, and the implementation of joint initiatives in official statistics. Special attention will be given to strengthening methodological comparability of data, applying innovative solutions, and expanding analytical capacity.
