Inflation in the Republic of Kazakhstan
In November 2024, the monthly consumer price index, as in the previous month, was 0.9%. Food prices increased by 1.1%, paid services – by 0.8%, non-food products - by 0.7%.

Of food products, prices for cucumbers increased by 40.3%, tomatoes – by 37.3%, sweet peppers – by 15.5%, onions – by 13.9%, garlic – by 10.1%, cabbage – by 8.9%, potatoes – by 6.2%, oranges – by 4.8%, lemons – by 4.1%, sunflower oil – by 4%. A decrease in prices was noted for rice by 2%, sugar – by 1.9%, apples – by 0.7%.

In the field of housing and communal services, tariffs for hot water increased by 11.4%, electricity - by 3.4%, garbage collection – by 2.2%, central heating – by 2.1%. Tire repair services rose in price by 3%, visits to the baths– by 2.6%, hairdressing and beauty salon services – by 1.2%.

An increase in prices in November this year was noted for firewood by 1.4%, coal – by 1%. A smartphone increased in price by 9.8%, a gold engagement ring – by 6.2%, clothes and shoes – by 0.9%.

Among the regions, the highest monthly inflation was registered in the Karaganda region by 1.5% (above the national average by 0.6 percentage points), the lowest in the city of Almaty – by 0.4%.
By region, food prices increased the most in the city of Shymkent by 2%, non–food products – in the Mangystau region by 2.3%, paid services - in the Almaty region by 2.6%.







Inflation in November 2024 was 8.4% year-on-year. Prices for paid services increased by 13.3%, non-food products – by 8%, food products - by 5.4%.

Compared with November 2023, tariffs for cold water increased by 43.1%, sanitation – by 25.7%, electricity, hot water – by 21.7%, central heating – by 17.5%, garbage collection – by 10.3%. Railway passenger transport services rose in price by 24.5%, the organization of complex recreation – by 22.3%, dental services – by 12.8%. Laptop prices have increased by 65%, kitchen stove – by 40.8%. An increase in prices was noted for acetylsalicylic acid by 27.6%, kanefron – by 24%, corvalol – by 21.9%, acyclovir – by 19.6%. Potatoes rose in price by 28.2%, cucumbers – by 25.9%, tomatoes – by 25.5%, olive oil – by 23.3%, sweet pepper – by 19.8%, garlic – by 18.4%. On the contrary, buckwheat groats fell in price by 21.6%, carrots – by 10.2%, lemon – by 8.9%, cabbage – by 8.5%, sunflower oil – by 5.3%.

The consumer price index, which characterizes the level of inflation, is calculated monthly. Observations are carried out on tariffs and prices for services and goods, for a total of 508 items. Dynamic changes in inflation can be viewed on a specially designed interactiveyes board , which covers indicators starting from 2018.

 

*From January 2024 when constructing the consumer price index, the share of food products is 42.0%, non-food products – 29.8%, paid services – 28.2%.
