Gross regional product of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023 with the allocation of the unobserved economy

The volume of the produced Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for 2023amounted to 119808038,7million tenge. GDP increased by 5,1% in real terms compared to last year.

In the structure of GDP for 2023, occupies the largest share are Almaty city (20,8%), Atyrau region (12,0%) and Astana city (10,8%).

GDP per capita in2023 amounted to 6020,4thousand tenge.By region the leading positions are occupied by Atyrau region (20509,2 thousand tenge), Almaty city (11340,6 thousand tenge) and Ulytau region (9367,5 thousand tenge) and on last positions areTurkistan region (1902,6 thousand tenge), Zhetisu region (2444,9 thousand tenge) and Zhambyl region(2500,5 thousand tenge).

High Gross regional product (GRP) growth rates are observed in Zhetisu region (12,6%), Almaty city(9,7%) and Atyrau region(7,4%).


The share of the  non-observed economy in the GAP of 2023 amounted to 17,52% and decreased by 1,26%compared to the previous year.

The largest shares of the non-observed economy are observed in Zhetisu (32,29%), Turkistan (30,81%) and Zhambyl (24,24%) regions, the smallest – in Atyrau (9,63%),
Ulytau (10,39%), Batys Kazakhstan (12,31%) regions.
