Data Literacy Educational Platform presented at International Forum

The open Data Literacy education platform was unveiled at the second International Statistical Forum of CIS Countries held in Tashkent. Developed by the Bureau of National Statistics in collaboration with the World Bank, the platform offers a modular course for civil servants in Kazakh, Russian, English, Kyrgyz, Tajik, and Uzbek. It aims to enhance knowledge in the field of statistics and data analysis.

The new platform was introduced at the forum by Assel Shauyenova, Deputy Head of the Bureau of National Statistics. Presenting the project, she highlighted that the training program focuses on working with published data, its interpretation, clarification of methodological issues across statistical sectors, data quality standards, and the use of alternative data sources.

«Education is a key to successful adaptation in a rapidly changing world. It is essential for specialists to have modern knowledge and skills for effective data work. The program not only trains participants to better understand statistics but also fosters a culture of data-driven decision-making», said Assel Shauyenova during her speech at the forum.

The Data Literacy platform, available at dataliteracyhub.stat.gov.kz, provides access to online courses in statistics and data analysis and is open to all interested users. At the forum, participants were given the opportunity to register and start the course.

The second International Statistical Forum of CIS Countries, themed «New Technologies and Data Sources», is organized by the Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS and is taking place in Tashkent.
