To commemorate the 105th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s official statistics, a jubilee edition titled “105 years of official statistics of Kazakhstan” has been released. The publication is dedicated to the history of the formation and development of the national statistical service.
The jubilee edition highlights the key stages in the evolution of Kazakhstan’s statistics — from its early steps during the Soviet period to the modern era of digital transformation. The book provides a detailed overview of the development of statistics in independent Kazakhstan, including the introduction of international standards, the improvement of statistical legislation, the automation of statistical processes, and the directions for further sectoral development. It also emphasizes issues of digital transformation and the implementation of innovations within the field. The publication features unique archival documents, analytical materials, and personal stories of those who laid the foundations of modern statistics in Kazakhstan.
“This is not just a chronicle of events, but a living narrative where archival documents, analytics, and the memories of industry professionals intertwine with the personal stories of those who built the statistics of independent Kazakhstan. This jubilee book is a tribute to all veterans and colleagues who contributed to the development of the national statistical system — a source of historical memory and a guide for future generations of statisticians,” noted Maxat Turlubayev, Head of the Bureau of National Statistics of the ASPR of the RK.
The creation of the publication was a collaborative effort by employees of the Bureau of National Statistics, industry veterans, and experts in the field of statistics.
The jubilee edition has been released in both print and digital formats. The electronic version of the book is available on the Bureau’s website.
