The Bureau of National Statistics received a delegation from Turkmenistan, which included representatives from the State Committee on Statistics, the Central Bank, and the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The purpose of the visit was for the delegation to familiarize themselves with Kazakhstan’s experience in collecting, processing, and disseminating statistics on foreign trade in services, as well as to study practices of interagency cooperation and the implementation of digital solutions in statistical activities.
As part of the program, the delegation was introduced to the key areas of the Bureau’s work, including demonstrations of the official website and digital dashboards designed for data analysis on foreign and mutual trade. Particular attention was paid to modern approaches to statistical data visualization and ensuring open access to information for a wide range of users.
Head of the Bureau, Maxat Turlubayev, shared the strategic vision for the development of national statistics and outlined plans for its transformation amid global changes. During the discussions, both sides exchanged views on the compilation of statistics in the fields of services and energy, and considered approaches to improving the accuracy and timeliness of data provision.
At the conclusion of the visit, both parties confirmed their interest in further strengthening partnership ties and developing cooperation aimed at enhancing the quality and transparency of statistical information. The Turkmen delegation plans to study the presented approaches and tools in greater detail over the coming week for potential adaptation in their own practice.
