In July 2023, 169.3 thousand units of motor vehicles were registered¹⁾, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the indicator increased by 1.8 times, including passenger cars - 1.8 times, buses - 2.2 times and trucks 1.8 times.

Thus, as of August 1, 2023, the number of registered vehicles in Kazakhstan amounted to 5015.2 thousand units, of which 87.9% were passenger cars, 10% were trucks and 2.1% were buses.

At the same time, of the total number of registered passenger cars, the largest share (45.1%) is made up of passenger cars with an engine capacity from 1500 to 2000 cube cm, with engine capacity up to 1500 cube cm– 18.1%, with engine capacity from 2000 to 2500 cc - 17.3%, with engine capacity from 2500 to 4000 cc – 15.1%, over 4000 cc – 1.9%. The largest number of passenger cars with an engine capacity from 1500 to 2000 cc. in Almaty region – 223 thousand units, Almaty city – 200.7 thousand units, Astana city - 153.7 thousand units, in Karaganda region – 151 thousand units and East Kazakhstan region – 137.4 thousand. units. Among trucks, the largest share falls on trucks with an engine capacity of over 4000 cc (72% of the total number of registered trucks).
