Thus, as of September 1, 2024, the number of registered vehicles in Kazakhstan amounted to 5579.4 thousand units, of which 88% were passenger cars, 9.9% were trucks and 2.1% were buses.
By year of manufacture, the total number of registered cars is dominated by transport with a year of manufacture over 20 years – 44.8%, more than 10 years, but not more than 20 years – 23.8% of the fleet, more than 3 years, but not more than 7 years – 13.1% more than 7 years, but not more than 10 years – 11.9%, and only 6.2% of vehicles have a year of manufacture less than 3 years. The largest number of cars with a production year of more than 20 years has been registered in the Almaty region – 361.4 thousand. units, in Almaty – 206.8 thousand units, in Zhambyl region – 190.5 thousand units, in Karaganda region – 183.3 thousand units and in Shygys Kazakhstan region – 177.3 thousand units.
