In February 2024, 136.6 thousand units of motor vehicles were registered¹⁾, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the indicator decreased by 13.5%, including buses increased – 7%, trucks decreased 13.9% times and passenger cars decreased decreased by 10.3%.

Thus, as of March 1, 2024, the number of registered vehicles in Kazakhstan amounted to 5378.9 thousand units, of which 88.1% were passenger cars, 9.9% were trucks and 2.0% were buses.

By year of manufacture, the total number of registered passenger cars is dominated by transport with a year of manufacture over 20 years – 45.1%, more than 10 years, but not more than 20 years – 23.6% of the fleet, more than 7 years, but not more than 10 years – 12.9%, more than 3 years, but not more than 7 years – 12.1% and only 6.2% of vehicles have a year of manufacture less than 3 years. The largest number of passenger cars with a production year of more than 20 years has been registered in the Almaty region – 326.5 thousand. units, in Almaty – 189.4 thousand units, in Zhambyl region – 166.4 thousand units, in Karaganda region – 162.9 thousand units and in Shygys Kazakhstan region – 155.2 thousand units.

At the same time, compared to the same period last year, the number of passenger cars traveling by electricity increased 6.7 times, from 1291 to 8684 units. The largest number of electric:

For January-February of 2024, 2635 road accidents were registered, in which 3576 people were injured. In comparison with the corresponding period of 2023, the number of incidents increased by 53.6%, the number of victims increased by 45%.²⁾

As of March 1, 2024, 21090 insurance payments in the amount of 11.6 million tenge were made by insurance organizations for compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners.³⁾
