    Aktobe (18%), Turkistan (15,2%), and Karaganda (12%) regions accounted for tenge 367,7 billion, or 45,2% of the total environmental protection expenditures. The largest share of these expenditures consisted of investments aimed at implementing environmental protection measures.

    The structure of total environmental protection expenditures by environmental protection activity was as follows: air protection – 19,8%, waste management – 22%, and other environmental protection activities – 39,9%. The latter category includes activities related to renewable energy sources, energy-saving technologies, and improvements in energy efficiency.
