H-4-Age of road motor vehicle fleet2019.xls

Brief description:

The indicator classifies the age of road motor vehicles (passenger cars, intercity buses or city buses , trolleybuses, trucks and road haulers) in the country. The age of a road vehicle is the time that has elapsed since its first registration, regardless of the country of registration.

Methodology:

The indicator is in accordance with the «procedure for the formation of statistical indicators of transport», approved by order of acting Chairman of the Committee on statistics of MNE of RK № 145 of 15 July 2016. The responsible state body for generating passenger data is the Bureau of National statistics of the Agency for Strategic planning and reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Unit:

The number in thousands of units (thousand units) and the percentage ( % ) of individual categories of road motor vehicles, depending on their age.

Goal:

The age of the vehicle fleet is an indicator of the driving forces that characterize the technical condition of the fleet, taking into account the age of vehicles. Transport is a significant source of emissions of pollutants and GHGs, and other adverse effects on human health and the environment. These impacts increase with the age of the vehicle fleet. It is expected that the priority of the state transport development policy in the EECCA countries will be to improve the composition of the fleet of transport vehicles by replacing old, less environmentally friendly vehicles with new, more environmentally friendly ones.
