The level of development of national statistical systems at the international level is assessed using tools such as reviews of national statistical systems and international ratings.
In the region of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), global assessments, conducted jointly by the UNECE Statistics Division, Eurostat (the statistical office of the European Union), and the EFTA (European Free Trade Association), are regularly conducted.
The reports resulting from these reviews contain detailed recommendations for the sustainable development of national statistical systems, which should be included in programs and strategies for the development of statistical capacity, subsequently implemented with the support of UNECE and other partners. Three Global Assessments have been conducted in Kazakhstan, the reports of which are provided below:
