Since gaining independence, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been working on establishing bilateral and multilateral cooperation with both national statistical offices of other countries (NSO) and international organizations.
The Bureau of National Statistics actively participates in the work of the international statistical system. They include events and activities of the United Nations Statistical Division working groups, regional statistical commissions (UNECE, UNESCAP), specialized UN agencies, and other international organizations (OECD, Eurasian Economic Union, CISSTAT).

The Bureau has made bilateral cooperation agreements with the national statistical offices (NSOs) of the following countries: Georgia, Republic of Azerbaijan, Russian Federation, Germany, Republic of Belarus, Latvia, Romania, South Korea, Norway, Kyrgyz Republic, Iran, Lithuania.
